I recently bought one and I have encountered nothing but problems.
It cost me £65 to have one sent to me, only to find out that it's literally only compatible with ONE type of microsd card (Sandisk - most of the other cards will break) so I then had to dosh out more money for a brand new SD card to use w/ the sky3DS.) Then once you've got that SD card, you'll probably find out that it doesn't work, so you'll have to go out and buy a third SD card just to try that instead
Then, finding roms without having to pay extortion to download websites is almost impossible. Most of the sky3ds retailers just link you to the same old website that required you to download essentially a "rom downloader" onto your computer, which even then is surprise surprise full of malware.
Then, after finding a working rom for your region, you're rolling the dice yet again to find out whether your sky3ds actually works - the most case scenario is that you will encounter some form of glitch or problem that miraculously everybody else is encountering.
For example, the sky3DS may claim to allow you to switch games, but it doesn't. (Obviously I know there are some of you with a sky3ds card that works perfectly. good for you.) but a lot of what sky3ds ship out is faulty.
Sky3DS: encountered a problem? try reformatting your sd card.
Can't save? Try reformatting your SD card.
Can't switch games? Try reformatting your SD card.
Games aren't appearing? Try reformatting your SD card.
You get the "Game card was removed" screen? Try reformatting your SD card.
Your Sky3DS card has fallen apart? Try reformatting your SD card.
Literally, I have never in my life experienced such an unprofessional and greedy company as sky3ds. I don't understand why they would even begin to think about putting this flashcard on the market when it's absolutely ridden with flaws. Not to mention how uncooperative the sky3ds support is. There's only been one guide issued by sky3ds on how to actually get your flashcard working, and even that is full of broken English and very vague and unhelpful information.
Actually, I can think of why they'd put it on the market. To try and pocket as much money as they can.
Don't buy a sky3ds. If you're thinking about buying one then you're just going to lose more money. The cost of the card is expensive, the cost of the SD cards is even more expensive, and then there's the eye gorging search for working roms on the internet because everybody has seemingly capitalised on how much people are charging you to download these roms.
You'd probably save more money, more time and have no stress just legitimately buying the games that you want. Sky3DS isn't worth it. Honestly wish I had never bought this piece of garbage product.
