I recently bought one and I have encountered nothing but problems.

It cost me £65 to have one sent to me, only to find out that it's literally only compatible with ONE type of microsd card (Sandisk - most of the other cards will break) so I then had to dosh out more money for a brand new SD card to use w/ the sky3DS.) Then once you've got that SD card, you'll probably find out that it doesn't work, so you'll have to go out and buy a third SD card just to try that instead :)

Then, finding roms without having to pay extortion to download websites is almost impossible. Most of the sky3ds retailers just link you to the same old website that required you to download essentially a "rom downloader" onto your computer, which even then is surprise surprise full of malware.

Then, after finding a working rom for your region, you're rolling the dice yet again to find out whether your sky3ds actually works - the most case scenario is that you will encounter some form of glitch or problem that miraculously everybody else is encountering.

For example, the sky3DS may claim to allow you to switch games, but it doesn't. (Obviously I know there are some of you with a sky3ds card that works perfectly. good for you.) but a lot of what sky3ds ship out is faulty.

Sky3DS: encountered a problem? try reformatting your sd card.
Can't save? Try reformatting your SD card.
Can't switch games? Try reformatting your SD card.
Games aren't appearing? Try reformatting your SD card.
You get the "Game card was removed" screen? Try reformatting your SD card.
Your Sky3DS card has fallen apart? Try reformatting your SD card.

Literally, I have never in my life experienced such an unprofessional and greedy company as sky3ds. I don't understand why they would even begin to think about putting this flashcard on the market when it's absolutely ridden with flaws. Not to mention how uncooperative the sky3ds support is. There's only been one guide issued by sky3ds on how to actually get your flashcard working, and even that is full of broken English and very vague and unhelpful information.

Actually, I can think of why they'd put it on the market. To try and pocket as much money as they can.
Don't buy a sky3ds. If you're thinking about buying one then you're just going to lose more money. The cost of the card is expensive, the cost of the SD cards is even more expensive, and then there's the eye gorging search for working roms on the internet because everybody has seemingly capitalised on how much people are charging you to download these roms.

You'd probably save more money, more time and have no stress just legitimately buying the games that you want. Sky3DS isn't worth it. Honestly wish I had never bought this piece of garbage product.

Agree with you about everything except the SD card part. I had a Sky3DS myself and have used a Kingston micro sd card and it worked mighty fine. Im guessin either your SD cards are fake or the Sky card itself is faulty. All in all Sky is really a shitty product.

This company is based on piracy, of course it is greedy. what did you expect?

so you think when you bought a flash card, the retailers will give you a unlimited access to download rom ? I will give the retailers +50$ just for that.
if you can't find the rom match your 3ds region, try region4. If you can't find the sd card, try the better one.

I got ninja'd, I was about to comment on the "iso" forum.

Unfortunately, I've never used a Sky3DS, so I don't know much about problems with them, or how common the failures are. So I can't really be much help on this.

I think you didn't search enough.

I've tried literally every rom website from google.

Either every one has some bullsh*t client they want you to download that's ridden with viruses, or downloads that require you to be a premium member, else you'll have to wait an entire day just to download a single rom.

and no, I'm not buying roms. I'm saying that if you want to conveniently and quickly downloads roms then you'd have to fork up money for some stupid subscription to a file hosting website.

I had a kingston 4gb and it didn't work.
I have a PNY sd card and it doesn't work.
I have a sandisk SD card and it doesn't work.

I'm suspicious that the sandisk SD card is a fake, though I was using it in my old 3ds and it stored over 20gb worth of digital games (games that I had bought) so this has led me to suspect that it's legitimate.

1) Apparently not, as I have tried 3 popular brands and none of them seem to work. (and they are not fakes.)
2) Then you clearly haven't been on the search for 3DS roms.
3) Yes. A lot. For all of the problems I'm encountering I have seen numerous threads with multiple users experiencing the same faults.
4) Piracy has nothing to do with greed... Customer service is a necessity if you want any business to live.

and I do want to sound rude, because I'm angry.

Do some research.

and to add to this, I sent Sky3S an email a few days ago and they still haven't replied.

I genuinely hope they don't try the "reply to refund email after 30 days so that our refund policy has expired for their product" tactic.

LOL, at this. I have used ADATA, Sandisk, Sony, Kingston, aswell as samsung, and every micro sd has worked. You probably have a faulty card. Finding roms is as easy as typing in google for what you need, just make sure to type the region of the rom your looking for.

If you're having so many problems, send the Sky3DS back to the retailer you purchased it from and either get a replacement or a refund. I would also suggest using h2testw to check for faulty/fake microSD cards.

i got like a cheap 64GB mSD card for $20 CAD, which is roughly £10 and it works amazing, either your mSD card is defective or you're doing something wrong.

sad to hear that you pay for roms, i technically got some roms off the first hit of google and not pay a cent. i dunno how hard is it to type and click the first link.

If I had a sky3ds I never would have know about the sd card compatibility because Sandisk is the only brand I buy, why would you want a different brand of sd card?

Pay to download? You're not very good at being a pirate are you?
