Hacking [PSA] Smash Bros Update does not work on 9.2

I royally messed up last night with one of my N3DSs, 9.2 sys, 9.5 emu, 3.2.2 launcher, no MSET yet. .3dz of smash. U.S. Gateway, no Pasta installed.

I tried the suggestions in this thread but couldn't get any of them to work. The .sav is backed up but I am not really concerned about it. I have brought it back to update 1.06 with the dlc 1 pack and that works fine, but I can't get the new DLC or 1.08 to take. There is a larger file size 1.08 update on an ISO site that the comments claim has the dlc 2 in it and works, but not for me.

Do I understand this correctly the dlc pack should be installed before the 1.08 update?

Been in moving hell the past few weeks and haven't been able to keep up with everything.

Any ideas?

First make sure to install the update and then install the dlc. in emunand it should work. Good luck! let us know how it goes.

Edit erase any dlc installed before updating to 1.0.8!!

Will give it another go tonight.

1. Delete dlc 1
2. Install 1.08
3. Install dlc 2 or dlc 1 first? (I have seen mentioned that installing dlc 1 unlocks all of dlc 2?, that's just weird.)

Yes. those are the correct steps to follow and I know installing dlc 1 and unlocking dlc 2 with it is werid but It works as long as you have update 1.0.8 installed first It's like they use the same key to open the dlc door again this time with more content behind it

Unlocking everything means having for free every DLC released as for today for the game of topic. Mii outfits, stages, characters, every single dlc. I need to start being extra specific from now on. I don't think there's any danger installing the dlc cia and unlocking "everything"

Hmmm. Didn't work for me. Confirmed Mewtwo was gone, installed 1.08, played 1 game, installed dlc 1 and only Mewtwo was there. Ug. Played a game, then installed dlc 2 to see what would happen. Nothing.

I have smash as a cia so I could deleting everything and starting from scratch. Any point in installing/deleting dlc 1 prior to installing 1.08?

When I installed the latest dlc, the 2.x mb .cia didn't work for me, tried the 256mb or w/e it is and bingo. Didn't have to uninstall the previous patch.

ahh I don't know then sorry if you erased the update patch and dlc before installing the update 1.0.8 and old dlc back again it was supposed to work. Insetead of dlc 1 ( The mewtwo one) in your case try installing dlc 2 (the new one) good luck!

There were two files I found (CIA format), the first was 2.5mb (Size of file) & it didn't work for me, the second was 234mb called (ssb18updus). Didn't have to uninstall the previous update with dev menu, just installed the 234mb file over and it worked for me.

I'm using the cia version of smash, so I don't know that this will work for you.
I didn't uninstall the first DLC cia. I had success (N3DS 9.0 sys, 9.5 emu, 3.1.1 launcher, .cia version of smash, Gateway, no Pasta installed)

1. installing bad 1.0.8 update (didn't update properly)
2. installing good DLC 2 cia
3. installing good DLC 2 cia a couple more times, since I didn't notice that the 1.0.8 update didn't take
4. Found good 1.0.8 USA update (MD5: 11f392ab06cfc382f4d2b5b9a3f69f03 *0004000e000edf00 USA.cia)
5. Installed 1.0.8 update
6. the DLC 2 pack was already working, now that the game properly updated to 1.0.8.

It's normal, the second file was the 1.0.8 update, not the dlc, and you need it to use the dlc.

Damn so is there anyway to fix this for users under 9.8? I have an emuNAND but is for someone who doesn't have one.

I don't know how against the rules this is, but once you are at said site above, try locating their dlc section and if you need us dlc, go for the one that says it was sourced from a japanese site. Then uninstall all patches. Install the 1.0.8 patch, when you do that, start up the game then exit. Go back and install the dlc. Once they are installed, go back to the game and it should work. That's how I did it. I wanna add , I did this on a 9.0 N3ds

Interesting, I have 9.0 sysnand and 9.0 emunand I think, I got the game installed today, updated to 1.0.8 and got the dlc and it all worked fine
Even online, Dunno why some are having issues, also I haven't updated my emunand in a while and im still using the old beta method of LOZ OOT3D to load to Gateway
I thought without updating emunand to latest online wasn't possible or am I at risk somehow?
