Sorry guys. I wasn't sure where to post this. Please move if need be.

Hello! I have a question for everyone about IP addresses. I am out at a lake right now. It's where the Bible Camp I'm working at is set up. The internet here sucks. It bounces around to about 4 different places before it gets to us. But there seems to be a possible issue that is making things even worse. It has come to our attention that there is an IP address that downloaded a quarter of a gigabyte every half an hour when the computer is turned on. We are assuming it is a virus. I am currently using Radmin to search IP addresses on the network frequently.

My question is if there is a different way that can actually show me which computer the IP address belongs to, or if there is a way to tell if there is a virus and it's actually creating its own IP address whenever it activates.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

try downloading EtherApe to monitor the network and see where where all the activity is taking place and maybe use WireShark to see what it's communicating with.

I tried getting EtherApe but I couldn't get it to work on my laptop. It seems like a really useful program though.
