I don't even know what a Snezzi DS is. SNEmulDS is as good as DS SNES emulation gets. Don't expect much. If you want decent SNES emulation, get a PSP. If you want good SNES emulation, get a decent Android tablet or phone, or just use your computer.

SnezziDS requires a slot-2 device with GBA compatibility in order to operate. This makes it a non-option for your slot-1 R4.

This, very much this, Snes emulation on Android is actually pretty damn good, esp Snes9x EX+.

Also on slot-2 devices you rely on the NOR / PSRAM FS which requires specific hacks per emulator core to work (for example if you want to save data from wram stacks to these memory), in this case a NOR / PSRAM lib is needed. Sure you can count on SRAM / Flash Memory but that is usually corrupted or dumped / clean right after reboot

Also the snemulds cpu core can benefit a lot from NDS hardware (that is not actually used), like MPU EWRAM mirrors permissions, or rely directly on TCM (which run on separate buses, I just moved most timing related variables there ), and use the shared WRAM as stacks rather than software stacks (C SNES PUSH/POP Stack calls)

Which emulator is the better choice for an R4 card?
I have used both, and I can say that Snezzi was very much just a proof of concept, it was slow and compatibility was awful.
SNEmulDS on the other hand runs many SNES games fullspeed, but many games are just incompatible with the speedhacks. It works very well (almost perfectly) for many games though.
