People always have warned to go into emuNAND as fast as possible so that I don't get the update offer but now I do get the update offer even when I'm offline.
So is it bad?
What can I do about it?

Turn the system off. Hold L+R+(either up or down on dpad, can't remember atm)+A and power on. It will go into safe mode deleting the update info on boot. Hit close and restart system.People always have warned to go into emuNAND as fast as possible so that I don't get the update offer but now I do get the update offer even when I'm offline.

If I leave my 3DS emunand updating during the day, it won't boot back into sysnand right?Turn the system off. Hold L+R+(either up or down on dpad, can't remember atm)+A and power on. It will go into safe mode deleting the update info on boot. Hit close and restart system.

Btw, you only get the nag when you allow the ds to go into sleep mode while on sysNand. It downloads the update while in sleep mode. Not when it's running. So you don't have to rush to emunand.
Ive only updated emunand once, a long time ago. But, you have to update emunand from system settings, and leaving system settings reboots to sysnand. So I'd say yes, It probably will.If I leave my 3DS emunand updating during the day, it won't boot back into sysnand right?
Damn... I don't want sysNand to update.Ive only updated emunand once, a long time ago. But, you have to update emunand from system settings, and leaving system settings reboots to sysnand. So I'd say yes, It probably will.
So, am I ok as long as my 3DS is open and on the "Finished Update, push to restart" screen?Ive only updated emunand once, a long time ago. But, you have to update emunand from system settings, and leaving system settings reboots to sysnand. So I'd say yes, It probably will.
I wouldnt know. Never had mset installed. I wouldn't think so sense the purpose of safe is to allow an update while bypassing the homemenu. If you're asking if leaving the DS in standby + emunand will automatically install the update, it won't. It requires confirmation to start the update.
As for the resetting of the update with L +R ect. Do you know by chance if this would also erease the Mset exploit installed for the N3ds?
I cant seem enter safe mode are you sure it's L+R+U/D+A?Do I have to do it from emuNAND or something?Turn the system off. Hold L+R+(either up or down on dpad, can't remember atm)+A and power on. It will go into safe mode deleting the update info on boot. Hit close and restart system.

No, hold them as you're powering on the device. I'm pretty sure it's down on the dpad.I cant seem enter safe mode are you sure it's L+R+U/D+A?Do I have to do it from emuNAND or something?
I also am getting these lockups when I enter the exploit site and have to do a hard shutdown, dose anybody experience the same thing?
Dose anything happen when you enter safe mode because it looks exactly like a normal boot up?No, hold them as you're powering on the device. I'm pretty sure it's down on the dpad.
Edit. No its up. I had to Google it. But yeah, holding l+r+u+a while turning the ds on should put you in safe mode.
It opens a menu that looks like the system settings, but it only has one option, update.Dose anything happen when you enter safe mode because it looks exactly like a normal boot up?
I wonder why @ThemBats can't get into safemodeUsed the L + R + Up + A on the Mset installed N3ds. When it boot into the safe mode, hit cancel and boot the system back up. Doing so did not uninstall Mset (Didn't think it would, but didn't know for sure)
Now to wait and see if any nagging update notification still pops up.
I have no idea, I'm still trying...I wonder why @ThemBats can't get into safemode

When you restart, it will likely restart the whole system, leading it to boot sysNand. It won't update sysNand, just reboot the system. Only emuNand will have been updated. Just run your exploit of choice, and then once in emuNand, go into System Settings to verify your version.Damn... I don't want sysNand to update.

I think your a bit late. Like the amount of thorough detail though. This is what begins the nagging:
1) The system is running sysNand
2) The system is in sleep mode
3) The system has access to the internet (either through a saved connection in Connection Settings, or through a SpotPass hotspot like at McDonalds)
If all those conditions are met, and an update is available, the system will download the update and then begin nagging you to install it. It will not install it automatically without confirmation. Personally, I'm only ever in sysNand long enough to get to emuNand, so #2 never applies for me, so I don't get the nag.
How to get rid of the nagging:
1) Have the system completely powered off
2) Hold L+R+A+Up (on D-Pad)
3) While holding all four buttons, turn on the system
This enters Recovery Mode, a special mode made for recovering from a corrupted system update install
4) Cancel or power off the system
What Recovery Mode does:
1) Deletes any downloaded update
2) Provides a menu option to download and install the latest update
As long as you hit cancel or turn off the system without doing anything, it will not change anything on your system. That means it does not remove the installed mset.cia (because that would require downloading and installing the latest version of mset), it does not update your system. But since it deleted the downloaded update, you no longer have a pending update for it to nag you about.
However, you cannot enter Recovery Mode when booting emuNand. The process that boots emuNand skips the power-on checks that look for button combinations like Recovery Mode. I believe I remember seeing a thread that detailed the process of removing the nag from emuNand, but it was fairly involved. And since you likely have your Network Connections set up in emuNand, you're probably going to hit it again fairly quickly. There are also guides on how to block access to Nintendo's update servers, though it would only work for your personal, home internet connection. But at least if you accidentally update emuNand, it's not the end of the world, as long as you have a recent backup.
When you restart, it will likely restart the whole system, leading it to boot sysNand. It won't update sysNand, just reboot the system. Only emuNand will have been updated. Just run your exploit of choice, and then once in emuNand, go into System Settings to verify your version.
Whenever you are updating emuNand, ALWAYS make a backup first, then check to make sure you have GW3D in front of your System Version number. Always update only through the System Settings app, never through a card or the eShop or anything else.
There seemed to still be at least some confusion, so I figured I'd post an explanation, either for anyone who still had questions, or anyone who comes upon the thread later looking for answers. If it's not needed, it's not like it cost me anything to post aside from a minor time investment.I think your a bit late. Like the amount of thorough detail though.
