@motezazer I don't know if the quote failed. Here.
@capito27 @nop90 And one more important thing. There isn't any LICENSE that protects the software. I suggest to pick one from [TLDR].
Then it could be discussed on github. I think this CFW is provided AS-IS. So let users themselves take the legal duty.
@AlbertoSONIC Sorry i forgot you.. and you, @Psi-hate, and @felipejfc (doge?).

This is really funny.

I don't care licenses. Nintendo user agreement should be enough for people caring legal matters.

Someone earlier in the thread talked about Download Play not working. It happens for EVERY game I get that's a non-legit CIA. When you go to initiate Download Play distribution aka open a room for Download Play only, it just doesn't even work. It says there's a communication error. You can play local or online just fine, but if you want to start Download Play it fails.
Why do you think this is? Someone I don't think gave enough information on the matter, so I wanted to ask again. I also wanted to ask if anyone else had any luck with non-legit CIAs and Download Play.

So following the instructions to install pasta, following the process. But I never got the software management data is corrupted message and it just gives me the 'there is no accessible software data'.

Still went forward and got pasta installed, but can't do .cias. Any advice on what to do? I'm trying to remove the anti save game restore function on a few games, but am using an older 3DS that's not my main to run the the CFW. Would that be the issue as why replacing the title and import isn't doing anything?

I get the following.

Install failed!
Could not install app.
Raw Error: 0xc8a0802b
Module: AM (0x20)
Level: Status (0x19)
Summary: Invalid state (0x5)
Description: Database does not exist (0x2b)

Ninjhax installed with no problems, and I didn't get any errors opening Pasta and going back into Ninjhax. So the only thing left is to look at any anomalies that occurred. Unless I got a crap version of Savedatafiler AND BBM. But I tried 3 different ones, all the same error.

Is there a way to check to make sure the same that pasta properly installed? Or is there something else I need to download for it to work? My version is 9.2.0.20u.

Have not done anything retaining to Emuand. Only initiated NinjHax and Pasta CFW.
From the opening post of this thread:
Question : I get a database error when installing CIAs!
Answer : If you get an error when installing a CIA with FBI, remember to make a title.db file in your "Nintendo 3DS/id1/id2/dbs" folder, and go to software management to fix the issue, you will then be able to install CIAs with FBI.

From the opening post of this thread:
That's nice and all, but if actually took the time to read all my posts instead of the last one to make a stock response, you'll see I mentioned doing that but I never got the' software management data is corrupted' message that you're normally supposed to get and it just gives me the 'there is no accessible software data'.

Did you accidentally create a folder "id0" in the "Nintendo 3DS" folder instead of using the hex garble the 3DS should create when you boot to the home menu for the first time?

Example: (underlined parts vary)
SD:Nintendo 3DS/fcd650ca0daf5bd2e43029e801c00e42/c62c00ac4760aeca534430320002544d/dbs/title.db

Negative. I went into Nintendo 3DS, and then the first garbled folder, which lead to a second garbled folder which lead to dbs, extdata, Nintendo DSiWare and title. I replaced the necessary files in dbs.

There are also 2 other garbled folders but they both only contain a second garbled folder and then extdata. I assume they are from my 2 system transfers.

Well, it's gotta be one of the other two if it complains about a missing db. Try creating a folder with an empty title.db file in each of the other two and see if FBI/am:net feels like cooperating after that.

Well hot taco, that actually worked.

Granted when I access savedatafiler It only gives me 002FF and FF40A and says they're both broken.

Edit: I'm guessing this is a side effect of that whole 'data is corrupt' part of the process. How do I put my old data back on the SD card without everything getting wrecked. And is there a way to identify what the Mii Maker and Mii Plaza data is? I tried using this for reference looking through my folders, but no luck

I'm trying to run Pasta CFW on a 7.2.0-17E 2DS and it keeps crashing.
I can run Ninjhax fine but when I try to run Pasta CFW it just freezes there.
Is it normal?

Does online multiplayer with legit cia work in Pasta or in other words, is it safe to try turning wi fi on in game and playing online without the 3DS trying to download a system update?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.

    nvm it does support mine
