I have a legit copy of AC:NL, but I also have gateway, so I need to use EmuNAND to play my copy of AC:NL. My emuNAND is 9.3.0.8 or something, but I know it's below 9.5. I tried going to the save backup website while in-game in AC:NL, but it just froze and made me have to do a hard reset. I would go and read thru all of this to find a solution if there is one, but I'm at work right now, so if possible, could someone just let me know if there's a way to get it working? Thanks in advance.

Derp, I meant BACKUP save files, saved before your new save file do that. Games that have a "Save Data Backup" feature don't have that kind of behavior.

Look up something called an ACNL "clean&legit CIA", install it while in GW sysnand mode and try it again without going into GW mode.

You need to use SaveDataFiler to copy your cart's save file to the new digital version. "clean&legit" CIAs are signed with a proper signature, so they work in sysnand. LeafTools doesn't support EmuNAND because GW didn't put NIM support into GW mode, so it wouldn't work, but using sysnand it WILL work.

Yeah, iNew leaf is not working in sysnand. Neither is savedatafiler. I cant use either of them unless I go to Emunand.

You install the clean&legit CIA in GW mode sysnand, and use SDF to copy your cartridge's save file to the digital version IN GW SYSNAND, then restart into regular sysnand mode, and use LeafTools in sysnand mode.

I cant install ANYTHING in GW sysnand mode because I need to be in GW Emunand mode to install cias. And whenever I try o launch a cia that was installed to emunand, it tells me I have to redownload it from the eshop.

"100% Legit/Legal/Perfect" (at least that's what the community calls them now) CIAs don't have the "redownload from eshop" behavior, they're meant to work in regular sysnand mode.

Here are some of my requests/suggestions for LeafTools:
Keyboard Hacker: replaces your keyboard with a keyboard with special symbols, like the octopus
TPC Swagger: replaces your tpc picture with a picture of a troll face
Building/PWP Replacer: you can replace a pwp with another pwp, like replace your bulletin board with museum donation board
Island Building Seeder: place pwp's and stuff on island

What?!?!?!? There's a special character for an octopus? Is there a known Unicode hex value for it? Where does it even appear in the game? I can get a value for it that way!

It looks like a cat but apparently it is an octopus, it appears in game on your emote tab thingy

I edited my town on my brother's old 3DS, but I want to be able to play it on my New 3DS XL (Not like "new" as in I jsut got it, but the newest 3DS model) I know that this hack does not work with the New 3dss but what if the town is already hacked? do I risk losing anything? Thanks!

If you edit the town, well, it's edited. Nintendo doesn't care if you hack your town, so you're completely fine if you put the cartridge in your New 3DS, it WILL work.

Because I figured out the problem, no thanks to anyone here, and Kappn was somehow moved a spot over.

Help ME!!!!!!!
I did hex editing to fix my house, and now a villagers house appears on the map, but it isn't there in gameplay...
Whenever I click it on the map or I click the arrow on the map, the entire game crashes...
What the hell do I do to fix this?????????

This is why you should always use and make a back up.
