In a lot of countries, getting a Vita has become pretty cheap thanks to the Playstation TV. The bundle was $50 in the US and $60 in Canada just recently and that included enough memory (8GB) to play SAO and also a controller. Made me pick up one. Not saying it's an option for everyone but it might be worth keeping your eyes open for deals on the PS TV model if you only want the Vita for one game. I think the Vita has been building a pretty decent-looking library so I'll get some more games too eventually.

Thats an interesting option, Amazon UK listing it as £45 for a PSTV though it doesnt mention 8GB memory and says controller isnt included in this case. Does the PSTV have 8GB internal or did the bundles just include a 8GB memory card. I have a spare DS3 controller from my PS3 that never gets used so that could be an option for me. Having to use the TV for it is a bit of a hassle considering I already spend a lot of time on PC and handhelds are usually a break from that but this seems like a pretty decent alternative to buying a vita.

If it doesn't mention memory card and controller then I would assume it doesn't come with either. America has one bundle with controller and mem card and another one with just the wires. I think the PS TV has 1 GB of internal memory but that isn't enough for Sword Art Online so you would need to but the memory card separately. Looks like no bundles are available in the UK and the Vita cards are stupidly expensive, sadly.

I would have preferred a handheld too and maybe I'll get one when they drop in price eventually. For now, this will have to do for me.

Ahhh I'll hunt around and see if I can dig up a controller+Memory card bundle then. And ye the memory is just stupidly expensive again. Reason I'm not buying a new vita is that including the game and the memory afterwards it would end up being about £200, far too much to spend on one game. Gonna keep an eye on vita sales, I'll keep a look out for PS TV bundles too now that you've mentioned it, seems like agood option.

Just been looking around Ebay and theres some very solid deals there for what appear to be unused/barely used vitas. Just bought an original Vita with 16GB memory card for £90 (+£10 postage). There were far better deals but I'm not a fan of bidding wars and also the seller ratings weren't as good, first time buying preowned so Id rather get a solid item.

Game.co.uk also has the original vita for sale preowned for £99 with their 1 year refurb warranty but you would then have to buy the memory card also, £37 on Amazon for 16GB though Flubit managed to drop it to £30.

It's been said before on this thread anyway but if you can afford to, preowned seemed like a good option. Atleast visually most the listings appear to be like new, will see what happens when the vita actually arrives. Still gotta fork out £33 for the game though since physical copies arent even an option.

Edit: Was also looking at PSTV too until I realised none of the TVs in the house or my PC monitor have a HDMI input XD

I have been reading most of this thread, and apparently there is only a released iso but no patch file for the translation.

am I right or is the translation file somewhere in this thread.

You are indeed correct, Exorcizamus released an ISO menu patch, the primary full patch going on in this thread is on indefinite cancellation currently. You should be able to find the menu patch if you want it buy searching his name and the game's name on google but since its an ISO release we can't link to it here.

If I may ask those of you with Hollow Fragment, assuming people still check here, is there much difference between the HK Physical version and the NA/Western digital release.

I still prefer buying physical, especially with vita memory cards as expensive as they are, so I'm thinking if the price works out similar (which it seems to) that I might import the HK version. I can see that the PSN has some DLC which will be linked to the Western version of the game and therefore wont be redeemable against a HK copy but the DLC doesn't look too stunning anyway.

Is there any difference in content/translation? I'm reading around a bit and seeing talk of different map systems as a result of HK and Japan versions receiving a big update that hasn't hit NA yet but that source is from September 2014 so that may not be relevant anymore. Physical copy also means I wont have to update this preowned vita from whatever firmware its on when it arrives which judging by the seller's description, is probably quite old and still hackable which I wouldn't be able to do if I updated it to access PSN to get the digital release.

Thanks.

HK Physical version received the big update just after a month japanese got it, and mind u , update game for psvita is not region locked, only dlc is region locked. basically u can buy HK Physical version and play it on your us tied psn vita except u cannot download the dlc

us digital release is included the big update together inside when its released, about the translation on us digital release is only different a bit from HK Physical version and the penetration is still on there:ha: not much of different between us digital and HK Physical version translation anyway if u asked me..
thats it for hollow fragment ,
lost song will be better translation! B-)

Hmmm I might grab the physical then, the DLC really doesnt look like much of a loss. Thanks :) I'll have a search around and try to find some direct comparisons of the two to see quite how much it varies. The preowned Vita I'm getting includes 16GB memory which should last a few games but probably safer to go physical where possible. Seems like alot of Vita games are in the 2-3GB region, probably some 4GB so it really doesn't go too far.

Haven't looked at Lost Song too much but it does indeed look good, apparently devs were impressed with the western reception of it too so heres hoping to a better translation indeed.

The DLC is quite a lot though, and it's free.
You get lots of costumes and Hollow Missions from that DLC, given that it's actual content.

Ended up getting the digital. Turns out the listing playasia had cheap was discounted, they ran out of stock yesterday and the price is now back up higher than digital. Ebay still had some for £33 with free postage but still not big on the whole Ebay thing. Free DLC it is.

Also helped that I found out the games can be backed up to PC, didn't think that would be possible given how tight Sony are on security but that resolves the memory card space issues, I can just store the games on my external when I don't need them on the Vita.

Also to anyone who was looking at that PSTV suggestion on the previous page, apparently it actually doesn't support Hollow Fragment, though just the other day one of the people working on Vita hacking manages to run unsupported games via PSTV I believe.

Hi, does anyone know which programs they used and extracted directory exorcisamus texts for translation?
Check out page 58 onwards for further details from a few other users.

i have a problem i opened the file "install.cpk" and translated some stuff but i donk how how to comress the files back to cpk?
sorry for my bad english :D

i tried to use cri packed file manager

my steps
1 encrypt a install.dat with jpcsp
2 extracted the install.cpk with quick bms
3 compressed back with cririoacked file managger

but dont work xd

Then he just did the actual translation in Hex I believe. Dont expect it to be easy however, I would recommend reading the following few pages after 58 first, this game has a few particular quirks that make it somewhat of a pain.

the editting steps

1 get my pre translated file
2 extract the iso
3 donwload cripacked filesystem extractor (my install.dat is already decryted no need to decryt again)
4 rename install.dat to install.cpk
5 extract all stuff from the archive
6 edit the files with an profesional hex edittor (010 hex edit)
7 open the cripacked file system packer hit create a new cpk browse the file and make an archive
8 rename the file to install.dat
9 put back to the right folder in the iso
this is the standard method if your eboot.bin version is 1.1 the editting is more easy
maybe in july i continue the work with the translation
hex editting is very hard take it loooong time 8-12 hour in an weekend to make 60-120 string in right place

Nice to see you back around here again, quite a few people were wondering where you vanished to before, the woes of real life I assume XD

I would be very happy to see this translation finished, specially after its already officially translated for vita. Just re-write it here ^^

Good luck, I hope it will happen :D

There was a bit of discussion about that when Hollow Fragment released. The team didn't feel it was worth the effort or the risk now that there was an official translation (potentially harming sales and what not), on top of that while just copy pasting the official translation sounds easy, its also potentially the most troublesome due to copyright and what not.
