Tried installing dsiware - zelda four swords.

Had an error installing =/

any advice??
I managed to get Four Swords to install, using this, FBI and BigBlueMenu, but it doesn't show up on the home menu :-(

Update: I can get it to launch through FBI, but that is such a pain in the butt it's almost not worth it

So if I'm on 4.5 can I still run CIAs that need the 7.0 sdk thing with this?

And if not, how do I update to a version that can run this and run those games?

The safest way would be to buy a game that forces you to update to a higher, yet still exploitable, firmware.

I'm thinking of maybe downgrading my o3DS, and using whatever games I have on hand to update to various firmwares and make NAND dumps to get pointers for more firmware versions, unless someone beats me to it. There are only 7 more payloads to add to support every firmware from 4.0-9.2 (or 6 if I skip 4.0 and go with 4.1-9.2),
I have games with updates for at least a few of those versions. I want to get a copy of Cubic Ninja first though so that I can actually test my work. Adding support for the rest of the firmware versions is easy, but time consuming. At least support for 6.x and 7.x would be useful. 5.x isn't particularly useful since users on those firmwares could just downgrade without really losing any functionality.
I have at least a couple 6.x and 7.x games.

Tested this and it worked fine on my N3DS running 9.0.0.

That's good news. I expect it to work fine on other versions too then. I haven't been able to test it because I haven't gotten ahold of a copy of Cubic Ninja yet, but I was reasonably sure it would work. I had double and triple checked the modifications before posting.

A simple question regarding updating to a higher FW version:

Could you install a legit CIA via PBT (ie. Majora's Mask, Smash, ORAS) and use that CIA in sysNAND to update to 8.x? They should allow you to update using them since the CIA files themselves are signed.

Got the same problem with GBA titles, seems that they are not region free, and CFW doesn't patch region checks :(, you can however launch them through DevMenu/BBB

Anyway, the EUR/USA/JPN GBA CIAs were uploaded in the forbidden site. Now the question is if we are able to make custom GBA CIAs

This thread is growing too fast and I'm not able to follow all the info, so I'm going to ask here.
I installed the CFW on my girlfriend's 3DS, what I have to do to use this new method from the CFW? I will be able to keep all the games previously installed? Can I use the Cubic Ninja hack just installing the game .CIA?

Is possible loading the payload in a launcher.dat for 4.5?

Not yet. Anyway, Pasta CFW doesn't support emuNAND, so game compatibility will be the same as your sysNAND FW version. It's better to update to 9.0-9.2 and enjoy the new games. So better expect a spider or downgraded-MSET loading.

@ LaronX im on a 9.2.0-20e 3dsxl and ive used shadowtrances version

@ Reecey you need to load the cfw then reload ninjhax and install the devmenu cia with FBI

I tried that. When starting the loader I the the message:

" AN error has occurred, forcing the software to close. The system will now restart. (Unsaved data may be lost)"

After it restarted I tried again but it kept saying the same. I tried both the version in the folder saying 9.0-9.2 and the one in the Menu_version folder.

run NTR CFW after installing them and they will be displayed on the homescreen, don't try to launch them if your not in pastaCFW mode (i.e after a cold boot) or they will disappear gain and you have to run NTR again to get them to show back up
