So I just installed the 4.5 mset and GW mode loads fine through it, but I noticed something new.
The green LED on the GW cart lit up when I loaded it this way, I've never seen it do that before, is this normal?

But what does this mean for me?

I have an old 3DS on 8.6 and Im sick and tired of using the internet exploit. Will this allow me to not have to do the internet exploit everytime and use the DS exploit?
I Know I could have downgraded the entire time I heard a full downgrade is kinda dangerous and can mess my 3DS up and mess with my saves. I do have NAND backup

Downgrading your 3DS is the only way to do it without connecting to the internet (unless you have that android app). If you want to use the DS exploit you need to be 4.5 or less. But really, it's pretty easy to do and safe if you pay attention. I made a video tutorial of me doing it and if you follow it, you're virtually 100% safe from bricking it unless the power dies. Here's the link to it. It requires you to have a NAND backup, but that's all explained in the video.

I heard it will affect my saves is that true? Also what about games that require lets say 9.4? With that I would have to use emuNAND?

The saves from games that are played on sysNAND I think will be removed. I believe there are ways to recover them, but I'm not entirely sure since I didn't care enough about my own saves. Saves from emuNAND games should be fine. And for playing retail carts that require 9.4 you could use classic mode to run, which is the emuNAND which allows you to play legit games.

can you make the ds profile app visible on the homescreen like the microsd management one?

Even if you could, it wouldn't work as an entry point because modifying it to show up on the Home Screen will break the file signature and it won't let you start it. So you get nothing from doing this.

O3DS - Anything
Cublic Ninja - No use ...at all!! (Assuming you have a GW)
N3DS - Nothing ...GW is not supported for your firmware, I think it's 8.1 to 9.2 that's currently supported.
No, I don't, I did not mention I had one right?
So is anything possible with Cubic Ninja and a 4.5 3DS with this update?

I have 2 3DS XL units:

New 3DS XL on 9.0 EU firmware. Previously on Gateway 3.1 i was using Cubic Ninja or Zelda Ocarina via Sky3DS. Now Gateway Ultra 3.2 works great for me with the new exploit on 9.0 sysnand and 9.0 emunand. I do however lose the exploit every time i run a DS game on a DSTwo card or the Gateway Blue card. No big deal as i can run the Ropinstaller for N3DS afterwards.

Old 3DS XL on 4.5 EU firmware. Gateway Ultra 3.2 works great for me also. Now i have 9.7 emunand and 4.5 sysnand. DS exploit has always worked and continues to. I've always lost the exploit after running DSTwo or Gateway Blue on it. No big deal as i can reinstall the GW exploit as I'm on 4.5.

Thanks Gateway!

I did that, it worked thanks!

But now i'm thinking, since we don't have emunand, we can't play online? Because i want to play monster hunter online, i have headers and those things, but i'll need to update the game, and to update the game we have to update the e-shop, so, no online?

Hello friends, i am currently using a japanese new 3ds on 8.1 sysnand, and 9.5 emunand. I have to use a sky3ds with a cubic ninja rom inside it in order to boot gateway every time i turn off my 3ds. what is the best course of action for me? should i install this update? it says i won't need cubic ninja after i install it, so does that mean i can sell my sky3ds if new update works properly?

you japanese new 3ds has emunand? :O i saw that new 3ds users can't use emunand and that's a problem for me because i want to install .cias

well, if you install the nvram on gateway menu and install the mset_yourregionhere.cia using an old dev menu, you can boot gateway menu from the ds profile
