I installed the MSET exploit on my 3DS and can boot into emuNAND, but want to play DS games using my R4i3DS. If I use it on sysNAND, will I have to reinstall the mset cia to boot into emuNAND? If so, what are my options?

Thanks!

Just tested it - running DS games in sysNAND does NOT prevent GW exploit from launching. You don't even need to rerun NVRAM. I guess this makes MSET more convenient on the n3DS compared to the o3DS, lol.

You def need to re-run the built-in NVRAM installer after playing a DS game, and that means holding on to your fav exploit game :P

Asking just to be sure - after updating my emuNAND to the newest one (9.7) along with the GW3D (3.2 beta) on the old 3DS XL (original fw 4.4), I'll be able to use the dstwo/r4i without any problems along with the blue GW card to install the GW patch again after every time playing DS games, right?

Short answer: YES

However, since I didn't play any DS games in a while I thought I'd try this just for fun.
My OLD USA 3DS XL is on original fw 4.4 too. I updated my emunand yesterday to 9.7 using the new GW 3.2 launcher.dat.

Now, I use an R4i3DS with Wood fw 1.64 when I feel like playing some DS. After, I re-install the DS exploit from the same R4i3DS, using a folder called GATEWAY_INSTALLER
with the Blue Card GW_INSTALLER.NDS (1.2 - 2.0b2) in it.

I tried it, and the blue card installer keeps hanging at the last Programming dot. Damn!
I tried twice, same thing. The trick is to close your 3DS and temporarily remove the internal SD card and run the blue card installer once more.
Close the 3DS, put back the SD card and reboot.
Profit! (as they say here) :grog:

Thanks for fast reply, mate :). In that case, just one more question: from what I understand, I should remove the internal SD card before running the blue card installer, right? In other words, when the 3DS is turned off, yes?

you can just close and open the 3DS, sometimes it hangs on programming and putting it in and out of sleep mode kicks it back into action, you dont need to remove the SD card

Well, let's just say I learn fast. If it hangs twice in a row, I try something else (in this case, removing the SD card).
That worked on first try :D

So just to get this straight, someone has personally
-- installed flashcardtimewarp, the mset cia and the NVRAM exploit
-- played a DS game
-- saw that the exploit no longer worked
-- used the GW blue card to reinstall the exploit
-- and the exploit now worked again?

Edit: Never mind. I see this was done on the old 3DS. We already know how the old 3DS works.

For the new 3DS, I thought that someone had discovered that if you play a DS game and *immediately* use the exploit, you're okay, but if you reboot, the exploit disappears.

Just tested it - running DS games in sysNAND does NOT prevent GW exploit from launching. You don't even need to rerun NVRAM.

You def need to re-run the built-in NVRAM installer after playing a DS game

Might there be some sort of difference in the systems which causes this to work for one person but not for another?
