How does this new 4.5 Settings for the New 3DS affect the new options, such as super stable 3D? Is the whole settings menu replaced with the one from the old 3DS?

yeah its really not many, but it would be a pretty crappy situation to be in if you get a console in the exploitable region only to find it cant run anything at all, thats why i think they should get priority over people who simply dont want to downgrade (6.x save users) or cant downgrade (2DS users)
I agree. Even if the online method is "inconvenient" to say the least, finding a better solution, or adding more features to the cart for that matter, should have a lower priority than working on an exploit to cover those consoles that are not working properly, or not working at all. Besides, this exploit has already been implemented for n3ds, I don't imagine it would be hard to port it to o3ds. Implementation should be where the hard part was

How do I do that? Don't I need to be in EmuNAND to install the mset thing?

if you read this thread from the start i doubt that you will need to ask a single question again as all what you're asking has been asked already in this thread.

very happy to hear! that update nag was getting to be SOOOO annoying. now I can recover my sons backup when he updated to 9.6 by mistake!

devmenu does not work for me it just starts as "the game card was removed press home to go back" and ive tried bbm and it wouldnt let me install the cia file. by the way i have a 9.0U sysnand

Just asking, but does your GW card work to begin with?
The game card removed thing is usually due to the card not being in contact with the pins or from a faulty card.

the games work and everything just not that file idk why and ive tried multiple ones i found on the net too

To anyone who's having issues, here's what I did:

1) Copy the mset cia for your region to the INTERNAL microSD of your N3DS.
2) Get a spare microSD and format it.
3) Copy launcher.dat to the root of both the new microSD and the one you're using in your N3DS.
4) Copy DevMenu.3ds to the NEW microSD. Make sure it's DevMenu and not BigBlueMenu. If it says Title Manager it won't work!
5) Insert the new microSD into your N3DS internal card slot.
6) Boot your N3DS, wait for it to create the necessary files on your microSD.
7) Start the gateway launcher by using Zelda or Cubic Ninja.
8) Select "Install NVRam" and let it finish.
9) Insert your Gateway (without any microSD!) into your N3DS, boot Gateway mode.
10) Once in sysNAND, remove the new microSD from your N3DS and replace it with the microSD you use for emuNAND.
11) Insert the new microSD into your Gateway card and put it in your N3DS.
12) Press select and mount DevMenu and start it.
13) Import the mset CIA for your region.
14) Reboot
15) Profit!

This worked for me. So if it doesn´t work a new microSD is required. Interesting.

does running dsiware stuff have the same affect as running ds stuff? i would imagine so - but just want to make sure.

well the exploit is super sticky for me now, even if i run NDS games the profile exploit remains intact
Does this mean that MT-Card users can hope for an update too?
never give up hope........is what people sometimes say in hopeless situations

Aight, went ahead and installed it anyway, and all is well. This time though, a red LED lit up on the Gateway cart. I've never had this before, and didn't even know it was there. Does anybody know what it means?
