Ah, I'm on 4.4J, using PBT, trying to use FBI but it just boots to a black screen, home button doesn't work, but the wireless LED keeps flashing like usual.. Any ideas?
also bbm works but doesn't let me uninstall system titles (twl_firm and whitelist) so I can't intall older ones with it.
Was really hoping to use FBI :(

This should be fixed now.

You've only got two options; you can either stay on the 9.0, or you can manually update to 9.5 with .cia files. Either way, you won't have eShop access.

Three you mean. You forget that if you hold up on the d-pad while entering GW mode, you can also update with a ROM (and a reminder to everyone, make absolutely sure EmuNAND is running, doing it in SysNAND is an easy way to create a brick).

This? (I wasn't aware of this method when I originally replied to you)

I'm hoping to try it myself later to download OOT.

Thanks for that. Looks like I can forget about ticket injection. Especially if it works on my AUS N3DS XL.

Pretty sure updates come as unsigned CIAs, so only if you're in emuNAND or some CFW that patches signature checks.

Uh, I managed to download system updates with 3DNUS and install them on sysNAND, without any signature patching CFW. Managed to downgrade system settings with this ;) (Used the Ninjhax build, btw). As for eShop content - if you download it with FunkyCia, you could use the "-private" option, making the CIA's "legit", I think.

Out of context. I was referring to game updates. I suppose you could get those legit, but only if you have a ticket for the game's updates.

If I want to update the browser from 9.2.0-15 to 9.2.0-20.

Do I have to delete the browser first or can I just install the cia build by 3DNUS?
Also is there a way to have it actually display 9.2.0-20 after the new browser was installed? Because it still says -15 even though the browser itself reports the correct version 1.7567.

I had a emunand made without gateway, rxtools 9.7 version. Can i install downloaded cia version with this on emunand? Or on a 4.5 sysnand with ninjhax?

Ah, I see what you mean. Me personally, I use rxTools to boot into emuNAND, download game updates (my NANDS are linked btw) then export ticket.db from emuNAND and inject into sysNAND.

any higher version *should install without problems. Just try that first. If it errors out, you can always delete it then try again.

Steveice10 Did you check how much processing power consumed by onProgress? I suspect that if you remove floating point devision and make actual output more rare, not every callback, the actual installation will be significantly faster.

Admiting that I use it on N3ds trough ninjhax
-1 How to know that a CIA is legit
-2 Could I install downloaded legit CIA and launch them from sysmenu
-3 Is there any risk by installing legit CIA? and non-legit?

Legit CIA are only:
- downloaded system updates from NUS
- made from bundled games
