I am finally planning on getting a Wii U and found this bundle:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Basic-Pack-Super-Smash/dp/B00P68FXY4

I am planning on getting this one since a retailer here in Sweden sells it for a great price right now. However I can't find if the included Smash Bros game is on disc or digital anywhere. My gut says Physical since it comes bundle with a Basic Wii U, but my mind cannot shake the fact that it might be digital.

Does anyone own this bundle? Is the game digital or physical?

If you do get Smash Wii U then it's essential that you also get ahold of the GameCube adapter + GameCube controller (official preferably as it's much better quality).

As for your question of that Amazon listing, checking through eBay it seems that it could be but then again it's just a Basic Wii U and a copy of Smash. To clarify your best bet is to chat online with Amazon.

I would do it but online chat with Amazon is tiresome as they ALWAYS require for the user to write the whole address, name and email regardless that the user's already logged in. I get that it's for being sure it's the owner of the account but that's going a bit too far for something as simple as a question.

When i was looking into it as a birthday gift for my niece, my local store claimed it has a pre-installed digital copy. Unless you plan to pick up an additional HDD or already have one, then i wouldn't recommend the basic Wii U as you run out of space way too fast in general.

I also don't see the adapter and gc controller as mandatory. You could also use a PDP controller (requires wiimote) or adjust the controls of the gamepad and get used to it.

All official bundles sold as 32GB systems, 8GB systems were sold individually. As well, the basic sets afaik are not sold anymore, and more often than not if it's an official bundle the game is digital. As far as I'm aware, Smash Bros was never sold in a bundle. It's more than likely physical.

For a proper Smash experience getting the NGC adapter + controller is the way to go but using Hori GameCube controller (via the Wiimote) is still a good alternative. I tried playing Smash with the GamePad but that felt really unpleasant.

Hell my kids were pretty good at Brawl just using the wiimote. When you start at 4 you can adapt to anything. I bought the gc controllers and adapter so I could learn to play. :)

I bought a 32GB deluxe set, for some reason it was cheaper to get that with Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land than just on its own without the games. As in, $50 cheaper on Amazon. It cost $290, and the official bundle of the GC controller + Adapter + Smash 4, was $200. Basically, I spent almost $600 for all these things via Amazon. No regrets, maybe I could've gotten cheaper elsewhere, but whatever. So worth it.

Wiimote is OK but it doesn't allow a whole lot of playability as it's limited to what the Wiimote has. If I were to play Brawl again with the Wiimote I'd be fine but it's too slow compared to Melee and Smash Wii U.
