I have an EZ-Flash Vi I use on a DSL and I'd like to get a DSi XL for the bigger screens. Is my flashcard going to work on it?

It would likely be a Japanese DSi as I live in Tokyo. Would that present any problems?

Are those two the only ones that work with an updated DSi?
There are serveral ones working with 1.4.5 like the Ace3DS+, the card by r4i-sdhc.com, the cards by r4isdhc.com and similar websites like r4isdhc.hk and r4isdhc.in, the M3i Zero etc. but supercard dstwo and r4i gold are the best ones.

Only if the XL is below 1.4.5 — a long shot now. I recommend getting a DSTwo. It is a great cart.

I just wanted to add that, here in Japan, it apparently isn't a long shot at all. Every used DSi LL I looked at was at 1.4J, and that works just fine with an EZF Vi. I found a mint condition one for ¥5000, about 55 bucks, and I'm really enjoying it. The clicky buttons are great, big screens are great, and Vi works like a charm!

Well, the 1.4J isn't so great after all. It runs everything fine. The only problem is that occasionally it freezes when saving.

I'd say it works 95% of the time saving, but that 5% freezing up when saving is a major pain.

Is it the card do you think, or is it something else? I reformatted my SD, but that doesn't help.

It's class 4. I never had a problem on my DSL, but it's fairly often on the DSi XL.

Is that really the problem? You need at least class 10?

nds-card.com sells micro SD cards along with their products, and not a one of them is class 10. They're all class 2 except the 64 gig, which is class 4.

Try cleaning the pins of the cart with a qtip and alcohol. Make sure to let it dry out for a few minutes before trying it. You could also try putting a layer or three of tape on the front of the cart at the bottom. Sometimes there is a minor connection problem that this will fix.
