Hardware Which Motherboard should I get?

My old motherboard gave out and I need to buy a new motherboard. I'm looking for a decent motherboard for gaming. I am willing to spend $150 for a motherboard.

Unfortunately, my computer is in a repair center right now and I forgot what the cpu model was. What I do remember, is that it's for AMD. If that's of any help.

Ok but yeah other specs do matter such as if it has enough ports or what not.

Well I managed to remember what my old motherboard model was. Maybe this can help you recommend more motherboards. My old motherboard was Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 Rev 3.0

I would prefer to upgrade to a better motherboard if it's possible. If not then a similar motherboard would be good too.

The only thing is, I would like to get a motherboard from another brand. I have read countless reviews of Gigabyte motherboards that have all had the exact same problem as the one I currently have. If those boards would not have those problems I would get it. Do you have any other recommendations?

ASUS A88X-Pro is good if you want another brand....

How about the MSI 970 Gaming? It should have all you need. It should also shave about a third off your budget and is about the same price as the board that RevPokemon pointed out to you if you shop around. I have seen quite a few complaints that that Gigabyte board has had overheating issues and the boards P.O.S.T. is slow/sluggish for some owners but they might have fixed that with a board revision/bios update. I have an MSI Gaming series board myself and they are great boards for the money. Of course (after having a blown PSU take out a board and my GPU a few years back) I found that the cheap and cheerful can be a good option too if you don't want Crossfire/SLI or to overclock the RAM/CPU. I bought a cheap socket 775 Gigabyte board to replace the dead one and it still works more than 3 years later.
