Hacking why should i downgrade 9.0 to 4.5

No benefit for me I have android and use go gateway so for me downgrading is a good way to have all of your 7.x saves get corrupted and deleted. Or to not be able to spoof a game for cfw. I get that people like 4.5 for mset but that in itself isn't worth it for me. Or ntr or pretty much any common answer.

i cant get go gateway to work on my phone so i just tether it
put some times i dont have signal
and like i sad before i have nothing on systemnand and all my games i ripped and have back ups including my pokemon x save that im now using with the legit cia.

needing to enter gateway classic mode to use retail carts for games above 4.x
any existing retail games that use 6.x save encryption will loose their saves after the downgrade(this applies even if you boot into 9.x classic mode)

if you don't have any retail games, or only own older titles or simply do not care about your existing saves on retail carts that use 6.x save encryption, then there is no reason not to downgrade really

I assume ds roms wont work on red card right?

if so will it mess with anything the my wife has on the blue cart?

if i ever need to upgrade back can i gostrait from 4.5 to 9.0 or will there be issues?

will my 3ds sd card work the way it is or do i have to redo emunand?

My main reason for wanting to do this is that im getting bored with my 3ds other then games. I havethe urge to do something new to it.

im not sure what else i can do on 4.5 other then wifiless gateway i have no ideal about cfw or which one is better or what they can do that gateway cant.

as of right now i plan on downgrading not sure when ill do it but i have a lot of reading to do.

You can block wifi on any FW version to keep it from upgrading. What is a "dsi gateway" game?

Well first of all when you use the exploit to boot to emunand, sysnand will not download an update. Because you are talking about downgrading I assume you have a o3ds. The wifi switch on the side will disable wifi. You can also block the update servers using a variety of methods. Directly on the router, openDns, a proxy, whatever floats your boat.

Sysnand is dead to me so really don't care if I screw up and put it in sleep mode and get and update. I just reformat sysnand and it goes away. There is also some button combo method that I have not tried yet but will next time.

What you really need to be careful with is leaving the house and running into an att hotspot or a Nintendo Zone. It doesn't matter If you have connections set up or not, those bastards will connect without your permission and download it. Only way to prevent it is with the switch.

I never had an 4.x exploit so I won't answer those questions.

Ds games need a da mode flashcart. Blue card, r4, dstwo etc.

I have heard some say it is tricky going directly from 4.x to 9.x. So look into that before you try it.

If you really want to start experimenting I suggest you get a hardware mod so you can easily go back is you F It up. Get it done on your timetable instead of after the F up.

It's easy if you know how to solder. I suck so i am having it done. Avalynn does it for $10 plus shipping. Hundshammer does it as well. They do good work from what I hear.

Version2.1 is for n3ds and 1.0 is for o3ds. Never used 1.0 and not sure what is required. Not much info on it that I can find.

1.0 is just a modified GW launcher, all it requires is a system on 4.x. It can't run games that use 7.x encryption, but it's the only one supported by GW, as 2.x requires a CN cart or a Sky.

Yes, but only using NTR plugins. You have to write your own plugin or use those currently available.

Yep. Not sure about Palantine.

I have three copies of CN but I use those for the gw exploit. The problem is each exploit uses a different save so to switch between them you have to wipe the save and load up the other one. This is where a sky can be real handy, load it it up with however many copies of CN you need.

You can check out the ARCode thread, it's not exactly real-time like NTR but it works and there are more public cheats since more people use it than NTR.

Only if you want to change your NDS profile name, color, birthday, etc.

If you don't use tethering on your phone, MSET is faster. Turning on the tether through the android app makes it a bit slower and tedious. If you just use your regular wifi at home then that's faster.

You are correct, only blue card

What update? If you mean downgrade, no, you don't NEED the blue card inserted. The blue card isn't touched.

There have been complications trying to restore a sysnand backup apparently.

It will work the way it is. In fact, I would recommend downgrading using another SD Card. Then when it's all done, you can just put your SD card will all your stuff back on it without having to backup everything (I would recommend to back up the SD card anyways, though)
