Does turning on Native Controls fix your issue?
When the game is 3/4 done an arstartdma issue appears? Hilarious but possible.
arstartdma issues are everywhere, its the thing we cant never be sure if a game needs an exception or not unless its fully played.
Neither file fixes it. Same crash in same place.
I normally play on Wii U, but I tried playing on Wii with native controls on and it didn't change anything.
no because i dont have a pikmin2 iso and even if i did im guessing i would need to beat the final boss, which i bet i would fail lol.
so the only thing i could see if do you use a full iso? checked md5? if so then its just a nintendont bug i guess.
The final level unlocks after the credits roll for the first time if I remember right
All you literally have to do is select file 2, it's in a place so once you start it automatically plays the end and goes to the credits, no gameplay required.
The entire rest of the game plays just fine, so I imagine if the iso was bad I would have encountered more problems already, but I'll check another iso later.
you dont need to check another iso just use the md5 checking tool and compare it to redump its that easy.

open your iso in here wait afew seconds and then paste the redump md5 of your version and click match to see if they match http://redump.org/discs/quicksearch/pikmin-2/
I'm not 100% sure I knew what I was doing, but if I did use it right the MD5 hashes don't match

You used the wrong MD5 value. Not sure where you got that one from but the one from your ISO matches the USA version fine so your ISO is good.
I thought it was determined that it was related to the emulated memory card size. Is that not correct?
