I could possibly do some editing, just not proofreading.I made tools to auto translate using Google and Bing, and it just requires proof reading and some editting.

We are looking for people that can devote time to this, and won't quit after 1 file.
Like I said, I can provide you the tools that auto translate from Japanese to English.
At that point its up to you read them, edit them, and save them
Well, I'm totally not going to give up after one file, but I might only be able to do a small-ish amount of editing in my free time.
UTF-8 for the most part.
Had to decrypt one of the file formats, but it was fairly simple.
People that worked on DQM:J2 for DS helped with that.
Well yeah, you're going to have to adapt the script. Is this your first project? That would be a great idea, if I hadn't already thought of that and tried it!
I have the full DW7 PSX script dumped, and yes its in english.
The problem is its formatted completely different, and nothing lines up.
For instance, the DIALOG portion of DQ73DS, the very first file, is the very first story scene, and they are in different formats in different folders.
Everything is just mixed together with DW7 scripts, and I have yet to take the time to figure it out.
Additionally, there are new features and changes in this game that didnt exist in the other one, with extra dialog, new/missing characters.
Without the japanese script to somehow compare to, and that one doesnt like up with DW7 either, this idea ends up not being that great.
However we have it as a reference

I wont stop you.
Check out romhacking dot net, there's some script handlers and formatters there that fan translators share around. I think Atlas was a great one--but it's gonna come down to personal preference. If you have a good way to map a script I would love to hear it.
Considering they arent 1:1, I dont see how you could anticipate the gaps.
if it was that easy, square would have done it that way.
link?nothing is impossible! full chinese fan translation for this game already out!!!!
link?
China is full of gamers who do nothing but farm all day. They have more man power![]()
There are some quality Chinese fan translations, romhacks, and other cool stuff out there! I'm so many Chinese fan translations are available for those who only understand that languageyeah, we have worked on fans translating since 15 years ago(maybe earlier),
there are thousands of people doing this with no pay today,
we have to do that, or we'll play games in other langue which most of us haven't learnt...
