Hi

I'm trying to load various NTSC Gamecube games with force PAL60 (using Nintendont) but find that not all of them work. The ones that don't just stay on a black screen. So far I have found that twilight princes, double dash, mario sunshine, animal crossing and super monkey ball work, but Luigi's Mansion, Mario Tennis and super smash bros don't. However those games will work on force NTSC so the iso and installation is okay (I use DMtoolbox and 'extracted' option to install).

My questioms are:
1. Whether there is a list of gamecube and wii games that can be forced to PAL60?
2. When games black screen is there a way to get back to the loader without having to hold down the power button on the Wii to reboot?
3. Why does DMtoolbox take a long time (up to 14 mins) to install some games (I have chosen 'extracted' option) on a brand new usb hard drive?
4. If some NTSC games can't be forced PAL60 could it be done the other way around, i.e. forcing PAL60 on PAL games?

I just want to play the un-gimped version of games with the full frames per second, over RGB on a PAL Wii, whether that can be achieved more effectively wih PAL or NTSC games as a starting point doesn't bother me.

*Would a Neek2o Emunand setup using pre-made emunands like the one found on this page: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/101209384/MasterPiece/Wiiflow_Pack.html change anything? I read that pressing '2' on the newly created gamecube disc channel brings up video mode patches*

Any advice greatly appreciated.

RGB (and component) don't use NTSC or PAL color encoding. So black and white is not normally an issue.
I'd try leaving the video mode alone unless necessary. Situations like games that are stuck in 50hz, lack 480p (on an HDTV), or need to think they're PAL60 (rather than NTSC) for RGB to work.

can't answer your question.. i do not own a rgb cable and usually i just get normal pal versions of games..

but i can answer to:
2: if you use a usb controller under nintendont i think there is a option to go back to loader, i remember something about it...
if using dios mios, you will have to press the wii button.. (i also get annoyed about that..)

3: are you sure your drive write speed is good and not a counterfeit drive? you can choose output on your computer hard drive (or other) and then just copy the folder to usb. if it still takes that long to extract on your internal pc drives. at least you know its not the drive...

I've tried leaving it on global, system default, region, forceNTSC, force PAL60, force PAL50 etc. There are only two things that happens with an RGB cable while playing NTSC Luigi's Mansion:

a) Red tint to the screen (which means it is in NTSC video mode)
b) Black screen freeze of Wii

My drive is genuine, not counterfit.

did ya check writing speeds?

No, but it was transferring over 2GB in files very quickly via usb 3.0 (far faster than usb 2.0). It is an WD elements 500GB. It is only in DMtoolbox that I had an issue and that was only an issue with some games. Perhaps that program doesn't like USB 3.0? What's the best way to check write speeds?

if thats the case probably is the extraction... that is taking time...
i dont extract my games, i export them as "optimized" its can take 1, sometimes 2 minutes, but no more than that...

there was a better tester, i don't remember the name, but you can use this one: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/H2testw.shtml
its what we use to test for counterfeit usb thumb drives, but you can use it for test the write\read speed
put it on option "only 2000MB" and write + verify

I haven't ran any tests myself, but apparently a cheat code for 60hz PAL Luigi's Mansion exists.

While off-topic, as you'll notice from the video, NTSC GC hardware doesn't encode PAL color so it requires a component cable in 50hz mode.

Thanks for that. It's a good tip for a PAL game on a HDTV, but I have an NTSC game, CRT whose max resolution is 480i and RGB scart. I don't think it will work because the video shows 'progressive' and my CRT doesn't do progressive other than 240p. I know that progressive, a HDTV and component cables will fix all display problems

Can someone with the PAL version of Luigi's Mansion confirm whether it allows force PAL60 over RGB scart? If so I'll get the PAL version. Is it games by Nintendo that don't allow 60hz over RGB? I noticed that first party games like smash bros, mario tennis/baseball/strikers have these issues,
