It won't stop us from releasing, no. If anything, it'll help us because it's like a reset - a new version means any new games are almost guaranteed to have it on there, and since it's brand new it takes a while for the next iteration, so it secures our spot. Unless of course they patch both our Webkit bug and the kernel exploit in which case I'd be shocked.

People still need to figure out how to code to see an improvement with 3 cores and the RAM. Simply porting Wii homebrew seems silly when it can all be ran on vWii. Interesting times, lol.

That's what we're working on as well (and what the ELF loader's for)
 
You think tri-core Linux launched from the Wii U side is possible? Probably easier to develop as three cores and other "drivers" are available. Marcan said three core Linux would be a good SDK?


It is definitely possible, we just need someone with the skills and desire to work on that.
 
I think people had interest but the SMP part was tough and finding certain drivers was nearly impossible. Wouldn't Linux naturally open up more possibilities in terms of launching programs WITHIN Linux? There were PPC versions of Linux out there.

Well, for starters, there are several demos/examples of multi-core execution in the SDK, so that's always an (somewhat illegal, depending on who does stuff with it) option.

Sure would and thats the goal for trinux. A linux environment that homebrew can be both written in and run in :). An environment for developers and homebrewers alike:).

Once we have trinux running in U mode and have SMP working correctly etc, it will be possible to write apps/games etc in c/c++, as the linux kernel will be able to handle all that :).

Thats the goal anyways, still a long ways to go though..

I don't have a Wii U but maybe I can work on getting SMP working for it. I have some free time now, so let's see what can I do
 
I recently bought a wii u, so i was wondering if is recommended or a safe move to updated to the latest firmware, with the lastest leaks back in january out there¿?

Yes, feel free to update to the latest version, both Wii U and vWii are exploitable still. (someone should probably put that in big bold letters somewhere)
