Great. if i have a SKY3DS, than don't need GW

You still need a Gateway if you want to use emuNAND, play your eShop Backups, use the Gateway Menu instead of the Sky Button... (I'm sure there's more things)

It's more like if you have a Gateway and a Sky then you don't need a real cart of "The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D" to use it.

i'm having problems just loading the save...
i have an old sky3ds(red button)
i tried to restore the save, but it keeps showing me my old saves, not the gateway one...

Yes, Sky can access eShop, but it can't play your backups of any eshop games
(The main word is backups...)

Gateway can play the eshop backups.

You have to force to clear the EEPROM. Just load up an other ROM where the save is working and then try Zelda again.

I just setup the cfw on a spare sd again and dumped a working save from my rev00 cart (normal save, not gateway one).

With the gateway save (the one they supplied) on the cart shows as broken in SDF. Dunno if my working save can help or not.

what sysnand version is the old3ds on? i'm guessing 4.5 or something? if so, it is because the save encryptioin being used is the old one (because the new real one it should be using could not be used)
if your sysnand version is higher than like... 6.0 or something, the real save encryption will be used in classic mode.
you will have to play the rom+save in gw mode, or convert your save somehow, i think it might be possible

Ah? Even on emunand classic GW is still using the sysnand's encryption? Looks like i have some more reading/research to do...

Can't you just check stock online and have them hold it for pickup? I got Cubic Ninja for $17 that way.

The version you need does not have a manual which is rev00. If it has manual before opening the rom is rev01.

Just add the OOT rom twice on the same microSD and add the .sav (restore save game) to both roms. If the first don't have gateway savegame file, cycle your sky3ds to the next rom.

Finally got this to work and booting into Gateway menu.
But when I click on Gateway mode, it doesn't seem to boot into gateway mode (didn't even ask me to install anything), and pressing select won't enter the multi-rom menu.
Any ideas anyone?
Gateway card works fine on the normal 3DS by the way.

I think that can be the problem, you need the right rom, and properly reformatting the card using 'MiniAide Fat32 formatting tool' should smooth out any diskwriteR/sky3ds errors on your sd.


Also now I am having a minor problem, everytime I boot into emunand I need to unwrap my apps, it was fun the first time... Any solutions to this?

To say that sky3ds can access eshop is a bit stupid, because it doesn't need access to eshop. its a card that emulates a real card and thats it. It can't even do region free properly for 3ds and doesn't work on n3ds.

First backup your NAND.BIN to PC and in Gateway menu > format emunand to prepare for emunand.
