Like if someone types "Piracy" or "Rom Loader", that post should be automatically ignored or deleted from this thread (out of the ones that mention the thread in which you should discuss such thing).

In all seriousness, and as I have stated before, it's not worth wasting time on these d-bags that are just nagging and bitching about the lack of backup loaders.
Devs, do not let these kiddos get on your nerves, don't let the pirates bring your amazing ship of goodies down!

On a side note, what did I miss this weekend on terms of progress?
Last I heard, there were going to be some tests regarding emuNAND, but that's it.

have you seen shinyquagsire23's video? yesterday he posted a small video..you should check it out if you have a N3DS .. its on page 79.. if it wasnt for all the crap it would have been probably on page 30..

Will the CSND patching/code for N3DS be available or is it part of the closed source?

That's kinda another item on our bucket list. ROM hacking is actually more up my alley, so I'm hoping we'll be able to create a nice way of redirecting romFS to the SD card (or at least parts of it). It may happen, it may not, but I personally would like to have something in place to be able to patch files in romFS. Could it be abused for piracy? Somewhat unlikely tbh, you'd have to also patch code.bin entirely as well as the permissions granted to the application/exheaders. We'll see if anything can be done in that category or not I guess.

I guess people kinda didn't like the dumping and converting into .cia part..


But the thing you have said, making the 3DS read the content files to the SD card, is better, that way people would still buy the game and enjoy the original voices of the games..

But the project won't actually give everyone kernel access, because that could be used to make a backup loader.

Regardless folks, the OP is outdated and stale. I highly suggest the developers actually get this locked and get a new, more concise thread written. I think that would end most of the concerns that myself and some of the others have.

Sales dropped because no one was buying games->companies made no money->they stopped making games->console died. I was a part of the PSP scene since pandora 1.50 dropped every person I knew who had a psp (roughly 20 people) never bought a single game since you could get theme for free.

I highly suggest you read some of the studies done on the matter. They have shown that although console piracy has some impact it's not nearly as bad as the industry has made people believe.

but from what I understand ARM9 is all closed. So they give everyone access to a small portion of the kernel that you can't really do much with.

Just got a cubic ninja for almost nothing at my local gamestop, now I am even more excited for this to release The progress made so far has been awesome, must be nice to have the skills to make something so big for the community. Thanks for all the work you put in, it is (should be atleast) much appreciated by everyone who realizes you guys spend your free time on this!

Absolutely agree. These posts add absolutely nothing to the discussion and they make reading this thread quite hard. I wish moderators finally did what they're here for and delete all this useless drivel. Should we report all that crap so people can focus on the main issues again?

Looking at the main post, and the things that can be done with both the open and closed source projects, I wish half of the close sourced projects were accessible through ARM11's kernal. Mainly, having an emuNand on my 2DS and N3DSXL, so i can use homebrew, and update (and finally transfer my system from my old XL), and being able to patch game files would be awesome. I've always been a fan of custom music/costumes in games like smash.
Looks as if everything is going along nicely though. Is the N3DS's only entry point still cubic ninja as far as this project goes?
