Different Firmware Files from 9.5.0-22 > 9.5.0-23

0004013800000002 > NATIVE_FIRM (Native Firmware)
000400DB00016102 > NVer
0004001B00010802 > "dummy.txt"
0004003000009D02 > Internet Browser

I've generated my own Browser Timewarp - tested in emuNAND.

So you can still do the web exploit right? I heard some people said it didn't work in emunand.

Can you post a guide of how to update and reinstate back the old browser? ( or change its version so it doesnt update when updating)

Executing the exploit twice will end in freezing 3DS, but crashed as it would do in sysNAND.

I suggest testing this with sysNAND only to thoose with Hardware Mod (Backup first before installing!).

To install cia into sysNAND, you need devmenu without emuNAND inside SD Card.

Spoofing is easy. 3DNUS > 0004003000009D02 > Version you want to DL (i took 4096) > Spoof to highest possible Version (option in 3DNUS).

The file was changed, i did a quick md5 compare to all files.

I could go a step further to decrypt the files, but there is no need to do so.

I hope you get the recognition this work deserves. Well done! I'm sure at least one person who updated blindly will ask for this process to be made into a turnkey solution which, as frustrating as it is, you need to understand that's really the only person who would would have a real world application for the process. Kind of a catch 22. Impressive work though!

Just to be sure we've covered all the bases here, has anyone with linked NANDs tested the update?

Whats happening on this new update?. Does everything work as usual with gateway emunand? sorry cannot be bothered to read through the pages. Something about the browser exploit not working anymore???

Gateway EmuNAND is fine with 9.5.0-23, especially since there's no use for the browser exploit when you're in EmuNAND. In fact, you're better off with the exploit fixed for security reasons. Obviously, don't update SysNAND.

There is no Gateway support whatsoever for sysnand 9.3 and above for any 3ds. Stay on 9.0 and don't update.

I'm surprised they didn't just clean house and close off ninjhax as well and then we'd be all out of entry points.
And just how is Nintendo supposed to push a patch for a game whose devs no longer exist?
Besides, that's far from the last remaining entrypoint. We still have entrypoints from the days of broken save file encryption.

will you sahre the cia? or we have to do it ourselves?

Quick question: I ordered my Gateway a couple weeks ago.

I was under the impression that in order to run emuNand you have to go to the go.gateway-3ds.com site and click "classic mode" or "gateway mode" with the cart inserted.

How are people running emuNand if this web browser exploit is patched?

Because we are in version < 9.2 (the last with web browser exploit + other things that Gateway uses). Gateway doesn't support any version up to 9.2, because the other things were patched. Now the web exploit is patched too with the last update.

My fingers are itching to update my N3DS!

and, done :) YES, YES, YES,i'm on 9.5.0-23E -> NOBODY can stop me from updating my N3DS to the latest FW ever!!!
and now back to the eshop, browsing/waiting till Nintendo releases an eshop game worth buying on it again!!!

At least the wait was shorter for the 9.5.0-22E and 9.5.0-23E updates then the wait for GW exploit for N3DS :P to play all my games (even online without worry and always the latest game updates)!!!

Back to my Steel Diver (Eshop version) and Pokémon Shuffle games :D

Without the browser exploit, how are people with Gateway EmuNAND 9.5.0-23 supposed to use Spider3DSTools?

They don't. They use sysnand for this as emunand interferes with spidertools. Whether or not a perticular homebrew app based on spidertools works in emunand is very hit and miss and it generally isn't the dev's intention to have it work in emunand.

The spider exploit works just fine with Gateway emuNAND, including but not limited to the Mario Kart 7 Spider Exploit and the Animal Crossing: New Leaf RAM editor. So no, I would say Myria is completely wrong.
