Thank you for your trust! :)
On a weird turn of events, someone just gave me the full amount necessary. Turns out I'll be getting a Wii U after all. :D

I missed the beginning of the Wii homebrew so I'm excited to be here at the dawn of the Wii U modding scene. This thread took violent swing and came close to derailing this "team" and then it swung back the other way and took a leap forward. What a ride lol. It's going to be fun to watch what happens now!

you got it right. Shinko is a douche. whatever he had good intentions at first.

How can you call him a douche? He gave one of the 'hackers' $100 to go towards whatever it is they're doing.You,me.....and everyone on this thread should be greatful that anyone is even bothering with the wii-u. These guys are doing this in their own spare time, they arent being paid, and all's they see is all you lot bitching and moaning all the time.
And you wonder why some scene people keep things to themselves? Why should they bother releasing source code when all's they see is a bunch of whiney bitches, moaning like the devs owe them something?

Heres an example of this thread:

>Some info
>Hows it getting on
>Dont know
>Whinge
>Whinge
>Making progress
>Whinge
>Whinge
>Some info
>Whinge
>Whinge
>Thanks!
>Whinge
>Etc etc.

Im actually surprised C4eva hasnt chimed in on the wii-u,but hes probably busy working on the Xbone, and getting thanks for his efforts, rather than being moaned at in a thread like this.

On topic,id like to say thank you to the guys who are making homebrew a possibility for wii-u.Keep in mind the people who appreciate your work far outweigh the moaners.

Does anyone have an idea of what firmware Splatoon will have? I really hope that it stays on a highly exploitable firmware (meaning webkit is old enough to have lots of bugs and hopefully work with the coming WebKit exploit).

It's all speculation right now, no one knows this early on

The modding of games, especially Pikmin 3 and NSMBU, is what has me excited. I was around the dawn of MKWii modding and even suggested a BMG editor.

Now I'm excited to be at the dawn of modding Wii U games. Maybe I'll be the first one to hack Pikmin 3.

I think what everyone wants to know is: Can we get even a rough estimate for how long the exploit you guys are working on will take?

And the more pressing matter: Will the exploit lead to homebrew/loaders,and if so how long do you think these will take.

Imo these are the 2 questions everyone wants to know. If you are more up front about what you are doing, people will be more willing to help.

The more up front they are, the more likely Nintendo is to patch it before it gets released.
And several times they've explained how the whole backup loader thing works.

On another note, reading through the last ~5 pages was a roller coaster!

Don't update beyond 5.3.2. It is a choice right now between online and being stuck offline. MAYBE an emunand type if setup like the 3ds has can be the answer. Once patched, like say Zelda has 6.0 firmware, I can't avoid Zelda and Metroid. Maybe there will be ways to get around updating with an emunand. Getting new userspace and kernel...and IOSU exploits would take longer to find. Once the ones they have now are patched that is. F0f had no interest in playing cat and mouse with Nintendo.

Yeah i get you,but at the end of the day the majority of people on here know what they are doing when it comes to loading CFW/softmods/hacks/exploits on their consoles,so a little bit of info from the hacking team would be nice.
I mean we arent entitled to know, because we simply arent helping with the actual coding, but just simply saying "we've made a bit of progress on blah blah blah,we're looking at a few months to complete >whatever<" stay tuned!" That would be great. And they might actually get a few more donations just like shinkodachi did, when he reached into his own pocket.

Can people stop talking about the drama? With full vWii access, could vWii bricks be fixed? I think all of the vWii keys are known.

Im not trying to create drama,im simply asking questions that everyone wants to know. As for vWii,i doubt anyone is focusing on that.

Shhh. Don't speak for others. Don't speak at all, unless you have something to contribute. And yes, that makes this post entirely hypocritical. ;) I'm only directing this at you because you "joined yesterday" and are asking questions that have already been asked (repeatedly) in the previous 196 pages. At least read the last 20 or so and you'll find that NWPlayer123 and others have explained what they are doing and what they aren't even going to try to do right now.

I've experienced too many emotions reading these last 5 pages. Everyone relax for like 2 weeks so Hykem can blow this thing open.

This is false. Have you checked out the Nintendont thread? It's a thread of monsterous size for an app that is aimed toward vWii users.

1) No estimate, since we're doing in our free time outside of school/work, the amount of time we have to work on it varies.
2) Unless my stupid soft-switching idea works, I doubt backup loading is even possible. You might be able to get SD Card access for loading files if you own Smash 4, but nothing to the level of loading a new game (especially if the app you're currently controlling doesn't have all permissions needed). You just don't have enough access.
