I think a lot of people would be willing to donate for the good of the scene and still remain unknown

I would just buy him one and get it done with.
Hit me a pm Hykem. Lets get this scene moving!!

A lot of hate here.
This thread has no reason to survive its original intent, it'd be much better for current and future members to start a new thread instead. I'm glad I donated in the first place because it has shown just how little the people involved in the aftermath respect donations (they don't). So many are quick to shout "shut up" as if $100 (or whatever amount) meant nothing. I'm glad to have went through this because the situation as a whole has turned into a mess showing the true colors of people. I'm getting PMs saying "nice one" and hoping my ego is "satisfied". It was never about that.
My first donation to Hykem came only with the condition it's used for a need. Hykem said he needed a Wii U, so I chipped in. NWPlayer123, involved in the project, then said Hykem has money already and doesn't need it. This raised my suspicion. NWPlayer123 himself said this: I am not going to speak for others because IDK what's in their head. He made an error and admitted to it, but there was still doubt to the authenticity of whether Hykem really needed money or not. My donation is my money obviously and I want to make sure it's going to someone who actually needs it. Up until now it wasn't clear. I myself was surprised to see Hykem say that he still needed a lot more money. This is what I had a problem with, not whether I was going to be credited or how NWPlayer123 acted.
Think whatever you want about me. I'm not your girlfriend so I don't need to say this, but I'm saying it now because I have made lots of friends here whom with I've PM'ed very often: see you another forum.
It goes around 180 pounds/250 euros/280 dollars. An used unit can be found a bit cheaper, but the price range is around those values.
I have received two donations. One from VinsCool and another from shinkodachi making a total of 95 euros/107 dollars (total amount minus PayPal transfer fees).
I can confirm the funds were gathered and transferred to my account, meaning that only around 150 euros/170 dollars are now needed.
Thank you all so much for the help!
Shinkodachi's first contribution was completely without any such expectations. His initial contribution was an expression, a physical representation of his perceived value of hykem's potential to contribute to the current 'team'. He, unlike you, proved with action that he valued what these individuals do with their time. So yeah, keep bitching, keep making out that this is all on him, despite him being only one of two people to actually donate. Why not put your money where your mouth is and actually donate next time instead of merely leeching and sucking up to somebody you want something from? It's despicable.so is this :
shinkodachi wants to "stand upon the shoulders of giants" so to speak. "to have my name in lights"
Bitches at a person that just "tests" others work.
the person who has "really" assisted in the exploit/s gets pissed at the whole attitude and walks away.
You didn't donate though, that's the point. So of course, 'if you were to donate' it would be for 'the greater cause', because talk is cheap. Unless you contribute something of value, you will have no investment because to invest is to give something of value based on the potential of value gained. You people are just leeches. You'll suck up to this 'team' because you want the Wii U hacked so badly, you don't care about them nor the time they contribute or the sacrifices they make to get it done, and when all this is over you won't even remember their names except when you need help or an update is necessary. It's sickening. If you care so much then donate, and stop making out that one of the only two people to donate is at fault here, despite the only person being at fault is somebody who publicly assumed responsibility for some imaginative 'role'; then immediately displaced that responsibility upon 'making a mistake'.Damn, things went to Hell pretty quickly.
Let's do a little comparison.
Let's say you donate 1 million dollars to a charity cause, but your only term to give the money is for the Charity Community to acknowledge your donation.
Pretty much defeats the purpose of "charity"... Doesn't it?
It is just a matter of trying to get a spotlight in the matter.
If I were to donate, I would do it thinking on the greater cause, which in our case is Homebrew for the Wii U.
I could give a shit about my name being somewhere in the development process if I didn't do a rat-ass worth of coding/testing to it.
This is what we need. Do that shit.I would just buy him one and get it done with.

My offer still stand Hykem. I don't know what firmware it has but I know it's low because I bought it a year ago and just used the gamepad to replace my sons broken one. I know of your work and have no trust issues.

Thank you for your trust!
On a weird turn of events, someone just gave me the full amount necessary. Turns out I'll be getting a Wii U after all.![]()
LITERALLY THE NEXT POST
Just a funny coincidence.

Hykem is on his way to buy a new WiiU
Scene will start moving now
