That's what I said: I'm shutting up. I also said I'm not donating any more, which I would've loved to do. This isn't the scene I grew up with.

I'm not taking sides here, but it honestly seems like the whole "fiasco" was really just a misunderstanding on NWPlayer's part. I agree it should have been handled differently, but it's a mistake ANY of us could have made, had we been in that situation. I'm also not going to tell you to keep giving them donations (although if you were willing to continue before the situation arose, you must not have been that determined to completely retract your willingness after the fact... Just saying...), but what I AM going to tell you is that there's no real need to publicly shame a PRIVATE HACKING GROUP that is doing this completely of their own will. They are busy people and NWPlayer was, I assume, responding in a way that he felt was appropriate. To keep things neutral, I know people who would also be pretty hot in your situation right now, but there's really no need for the continued bickering now that it's been more or less settled.

I'll get off my soapbox now

Shut up and keep this shit in PMs. If you're wondering who has done reverse engineering and coding in search of kernel exploit it is Marionumber1, Hykem, comex and I. There are other people who we have that are interested in the project and test. comex isn't working on it anymore which is sad since he's pretty much a wizard. Hykem doesn't have a Wii U and Marionumber1 has an up to date Wii U. Besides comex I would say that Hykem probably has the most experience with console exploitation and has a certain nack for finding ROP gadgets.

TeamScriptKiddies If you got that bundle it should be on 2.x or 3.x. I would highly recommend keeping it on the firmware it ships with and working to back port the existing browser exploit as things are a lot less secure on those older firmware versions.

Sigh... This was exactly why I was very reluctant on asking for donations at all.
I'm writing this post to clarify the confusion that was generated around here. Please read it carefully.

First of all, there is no real hacking team behind this. We're are all just working together with a common goal, which is to follow Fail0verflow's footsteps and finally hack the Wii U.
Second, the donation I've been asking for is only directed at me. To continue contributing to this "scene" I need an actual Wii U in my hands, so the amount I've asked is to purchase a Wii U (used or new).

NWPlayer123 probably got confused in the process, but that's not my fault, nor does it seem to be much of problem.
The "team" (if you wish to call it that way) doesn't need donations, because there is no real structure behind it (it's not a hacking group like Fail0verflow, just a bunch of people working together). Marionumber1 has a Wii U, so he obviously won't buy a new one unless it's on a lower firmware.
I, on the other hand, don't have one and it's crucial at this point to have access to one so I can test things properly.

This is my policy regarding donations:
- The donors are free to claim back the donated amount at any given time;
- The donors will be credited by me on any progress achieved thanks to their help;
- The donation process is done with maximum transparency and through PayPal to avoid sharing sensitive information.

As you can see, shinkodachi and VinsCool were going to have their names credited nonetheless.

This is the current status of the work being done and who is doing what:
- Marionumber1: focusing on writing the kernel exploit;
- Hykem: finding ROP gadgets and designing ROP chains for kernel exploitation;
- Relys, NeKit and NWPlayer123: remotely testing the kernel exploit.

What I want to be able to do with my own Wii U is:
- Write a new WebKit exploit for 5.1.1 and higher firmwares (this is already possible, we have several working bugs that can be exploited);
- Test the kernel exploit immediately without any need for remote testing;
- Work on other exploits of my own (based entirely from reverse engineering binary code from the Wii U).

Any donations done on these terms are entirely for me only, and not for the "team". I can't and won't speak for any of the other working members since that is beyond my control.
Plus, if I ever managed to purchase the said Wii U, I would publish a picture of it on my Twitter account with my name/date/whatever written next to it as proof.

Last, but not least:
proof.png

For the sake of honesty, I think it's fair to show that I have at least access to the IOSU code, which is what can be seen in the picture above. I'm not willing to share anything else on this matter.

Anyway, I'm going to return the donations since shinkodachi claimed his own back and VinsCool's donation alone won't serve any purpose (and I refuse to accept money I'm not going to use).
Since this whole donation thing ended up to be a massive fluke, I'll just end my contribution here and let the remaining active members do their work.

So, progress has just been slowed?

More like it never picked up in the first place. I now have access to a 5.0.0 Wii U 24/7 as of Saturday, so if anything it'll speed up. It's just that Hykem is probably one of the more skilled in the group (along with having stuff the rest of us don't), so it would be nice for him to have his own.

Oh gotcha, at least you've got something new. But him having his own could potentially speed things up a little I assume.

so is this :

shinkodachi wants to "stand upon the shoulders of giants" so to speak. "to have my name in lights"
Bitches at a person that just "tests" others work.
the person who has "really" assisted in the exploit/s gets pissed at the whole attitude and walks away.

and previously people questioned the ages of involved ppl.

i just lol lots at this thread.

Damn, things went to Hell pretty quickly.

Let's do a little comparison.

Let's say you donate 1 million dollars to a charity cause, but your only term to give the money is for the Charity Community to acknowledge your donation.
Pretty much defeats the purpose of "charity"... Doesn't it?
It is just a matter of trying to get a spotlight in the matter.

If I were to donate, I would do it thinking on the greater cause, which in our case is Homebrew for the Wii U.
I could give a shit about my name being somewhere in the development process if I didn't do a rat-ass worth of coding/testing to it.

So let's get this straight as my head is mashed after reading all this crap. Hykem, do you need the funds for a wiiu still? If so, people that want to donate for the "good of the scene" & do not expect their name to be displayed in neon flashing lights immediately after donating should still be allowed to help you out. I would'nt expect anything in return, I just want the same thing as everybody else. To get the wiiu hacked. And with the details you have mentioned with looking in to the iosu. The money is going to a good cause. You should'nt let a particular person ruin it for everyone else. Send the F**ker packing :)

Yes, I still need the funds. I can't spend such amount of money on a gaming console.
However, I'm not willing to accept any more donations from now on. I just had jpcsp.org's admin transfer back and forth money through PayPal, which made me look quite ridiculous.

Anyway, this thread has been derailed enough. I suggest to just go back to the original topic as I won't post anything else on this matter.
Thank you for understanding.

It's a shame that this person has messed you about & I can understand why you feel like this now. I'm not going to derail the topic anymore but I have one more thing to ask. Are you going to continue your work on the kernel exploit & your work into the iosu? I hope you do :)

No. There's not much I can do to help the current progress without a Wii U.

A lot of hate here.

This thread has no reason to survive its original intent, it'd be much better for current and future members to start a new thread instead. I'm glad I donated in the first place because it has shown just how little the people involved in the aftermath respect donations (they don't). So many are quick to shout "shut up" as if $100 (or whatever amount) meant nothing. I'm glad to have went through this because the situation as a whole has turned into a mess showing the true colors of people. I'm getting PMs saying "nice one" and hoping my ego is "satisfied". It was never about that.

My first donation to Hykem came only with the condition it's used for a need. Hykem said he needed a Wii U, so I chipped in. NWPlayer123, involved in the project, then said Hykem has money already and doesn't need it. This raised my suspicion. NWPlayer123 himself said this: I am not going to speak for others because IDK what's in their head. He made an error and admitted to it, but there was still doubt to the authenticity of whether Hykem really needed money or not. My donation is my money obviously and I want to make sure it's going to someone who actually needs it. Up until now it wasn't clear. I myself was surprised to see Hykem say that he still needed a lot more money. This is what I had a problem with, not whether I was going to be credited or how NWPlayer123 acted.

Think whatever you want about me. I'm not your girlfriend so I don't need to say this, but I'm saying it now because I have made lots of friends here whom with I've PM'ed very often: see you another forum.
