Hykem, how much do you need still for the Wii U?

I was informed the funds are now gathered.

Here's hoping OP delivers.

I have received two donations. One from VinsCool and another from shinkodachi making a total of 95 euros/107 dollars (total amount minus PayPal transfer fees).
I can confirm the funds were gathered and transferred to my account, meaning that only around 150 euros/170 dollars are now needed.
Thank you all so much for the help!

Ah, sure thing. ;)
The projections for homebrew and working exploits for firmwares 5.1.1 and higher are safe to be assumed as realistic. The rest still needs investigation, but a complete exploit (IOSU level) is becoming more and more plausible.

Cheers, good luck with it all.
I heard in another thread some group's making a software loader right now, is that possible? Can they have their own IOSU exploit and just merge it with the kernel one when that goes live?

The other group in question has their own IOSU exploit that they are working with (as far as I know?)

im guessin nothing worthy could come of this but was just wondering if anyone else noticed you could use your save file from original wii on the wii u version of mario galaxy 2? ttp://www.nintendofuse.com/2015/01/19/super-mario-galaxy-2-save-file-works-for-wii-u-version/

Someone with some amazing skills might be able to develop a save game exploit for galaxy 2 that might work with the Wii U version for executing Wii/vWii homebrew in that weird Wii wrapper type thing that the wii eshop games are running in. The question is though since its actually running in Wii U mode in some funky wrapper will the IOSU/starbuck stuff that whole thing up? I don't think enough is known about how those eshop games work though to know if that's even feasible.

It would be nice if someone could exploit that to get the gamepad working for Wii/vWii homebrew in Wii U mode using that weird environment.... Thoughts Marionumber1 NWPlayer123 our resident experts???

Also side note: just paid for my shiny new Wii U and got expedited shipping so I should be back in business in no time :D

NWPlayer123 told me via PM that you already have enough funds, so I don't quite understand where that 150 euros comes from. I approached him as he said he's the "PR" of your team and I wanted to discuss a higher donation in exchange for credits as supporter of the project. NWPlayer123 shot down my offer and said both you and Marionumber1 already have enough funds to buy a new Wii U. Care to elaborate?

I never meant it like that, I meant PR in terms of answering questions here, not as a PR for the whole team. I at the very least know MN1 has enough funds because when I asked him a while ago if he wanted to start a donation thing to get money for a new Wii U he said he already had enough and the only reason he didn't have one already was because he couldn't find one with a low enough firmware. If you wanna help Hykem, talk to him individually. I thought he had said he had enough or had ordered one but I'm probably mistaken.

We're a psuedo-team, we're just all working together on the kernel exploit, if you wanna help someone, talk to them personally. I am not going to speak for others because IDK what's in their head

You should have been much more careful with your wording, then:
Yeah, I should clarify, I haven't written much (read: any) code for the kernel exploit, I'm just basically PR, answering all the questions you guys have, and testing stuff when needed.
You made it sound like you're involved in more ways than just answering questions here.

You never said that in the PM. I'm going to make the PM public here as it does not contain anything of private nature, I've already disclosed my intent and so have you.

Everyone judge that conversation however you wish. To me it just doesn't sound like "go talk to the other guys", you specifically said Hykem has the funds, there was no doubt in your wording.

Then I took back what I said in that post
but I'm probably mistaken.
Besides, I would think it's common sense that if it's going to Hykem, then obviously you should talk to him and not someone who may be less informed. Never once was mentioned a fund for the entire team. As long as things are cleared up, I don't care if I make a mistake (I will admit to it though). Sorry for confusing you, can we get back on topic finally?

anyone ever gotten the browser exploit to work on 3.1U ?

It should, but someone with access to a Wii U with that firmware would need to download NUS binaries and figure out the offsets needed to get it to work and find new gadgets, and most people I've talked to don't have that low of a firmware anyways, which is why I've always recommended updating via disc.

I have a wiiu with that firmware that I was going to set up for remote control, but hykem said what you did and that it would have to be adapted. But also said don't update it for IOSU exploit ( he may want to control it in the future?)

Interesting. Either way, like I've said above, the 2 requirements for getting it to work are finding function offsets and then creating the gadgets needed for the ROP chain.

Do you think that would be possible by comparing the nus updates of 4.00 and 4.10 to the current rop chains and offsets of the files in the userspace ? Then just doing a find and replace for 3.1?
