Also according to this the Mobo can overclock.
http://us.msi.com/product/mb/H81MP33.html#hero-overview

Games I plan to play on dolphin are melee, sunshine, twilight princess, last story, galaxy, skyward sword, fzero and others. Also plan on regular games like portal,tf2,half life, metro last light, battlefield 4.
My question is a) is it a good build for the money? b) is it future proof? C) can it play Wii games on atleast 720p with atleast 40 fps and regular games on high at 50 fps?.

Anyway thanks for the help

If you plan on doing photoshopping or video editing i'd suggest going for 16GB of RAM instead. You need as much RAM possible for those otherwise they'll run slow. But that's only if you plan on using video editing software or Photoshop

Nope I don't plan on doing any video editing as that doesn't interest me and my ambitions don't require it. Rather it will just be for gaming

Okay, let me try here..

A) Yes, rocking an i5-4670k currently at 4.4ghz. Need to O/C to get best results.

B) No. Nothing is future proof. Plus a GTX 970 would give you more bang for your buck IMO. Again, IMO.

C) Yes, at 1080p you should see no troubles. Refer to A, though.

Also, you're getting an unlocked processor. Snag a z97 board if you can.

I would also swap the air cooler for an AIO Liquid Cooling to allow for a greater OC. That's just me, I've never used an air cooler for an overclock build.

If you must stay within budget, then it should do fine. No overclocking though, which may be necessary to enjoy Dolphin at its fullest.

Also, have you checked out the dolphin forums? A LOT of technical kiddies who can help you find the right build for the right price.

if you know what would run better for dolphin either having better sequential read/write speeds or having better random read/write speeds here is a page that has benchmark comparisons of different HDD's http://hdd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/WD-Blue-1TB-2012-vs-Seagate-Barracuda-720014-1TB/1779vs1849 I have the WD10EZEX they both have roughly the same specs the WD is $5 more but it depends what would be better in your scenario, but I myself am unsure as to whether better random read/writes or if better sequential read/write speeds would be best for dolphin, and gaming, I would think better sequential read/writes would be best for dolphin but that's my opinion I could be wrong

With my 700 I found I could get a z97 MSI board and buy an extra fan but I from what I read liquid cooling is out of the question due to theffact most decent ones cost atleast 120. As for the GPU I couldnt find a tx 970 that doesn't cost atleast 300.

Also Acidflare yeah I didn't think about that so I probably get the WD as 5 isn't very much.

Yeah, I should have paid more attention to the cost. Well, the good news is that with the evo you can push at least 4.0ghz with no real trouble. That will give you the power needed to run most games. The Last Story and Xenoblade and maybe Twilight Princess in Hyrule Field will struggle.

Just with a quick look, the build is good spec wise, but you need a better PSU. This system is quite power hungry, don't save money on it, get a 600+ quality PSU.

It is future proof for at least 2-3 years. Later you can just upgrade the gpu and/or ram for an additional 2-3 years.

It can play Wii games.

get rid of the seagate
stick with wd or hitachi (which is making some of the most reliable drives now)

The WD10EZEX is a great drive I use it on a laptop with a USB 3.0 2.5/3.5" Dual HDD Dock even though i'm only using USB 2.0 at the moment I still see better loading times then I do with some games on the internal HDD, it really depends on the games files, emulation is a lot better same thing when I play something like Assassins Creed due to it using large .arc files

heres a coolermaster case I was looking at getting myself it comes with a 500W PSU http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-case-tc102kkr500 it's a bit more expensive here in canada here's the page for the local store here they have a crap ton of specs on the case compared to pcpartpicker http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_112&item_id=040161
Thanks that case looks great for the price and could save more money to keep or use on a better GPU or fan. I will have to read into it.

I'd second switching the motherboard for a Z97 motherboard. (Edit: ninja'd) Everything else looks fine to me, and if you're not interested in overclocking, then there's no real need to get a AIO liquid cooler unless you like the aesthetics.

You might also want a solid state drive like the Crucial MX100 if your budget allows. Faster boot/loading times for the OS, main applications, and a few games... always useful.

Try to pick a 600+ PSU with at least an 80plus certification. As i said, do not go cheap on the power supply unit. It is the most crucial component of any system. Many system instabilities and failures are in reality caused by bad, inaqeduate power supplies. Your PSU has to supply your hardware with enough juice, and needs to be quality enough to withstand the test of time, since with age the PSU capacity lowers...

Well, it is nice to know. I have never used a larger 1T disk until now, and i wanted to buy one. It seems i won't pick Seagate this time.

I was looking into a new Seagate 1TB SSHD then I read reviews on amazon and newegg every 3 out of 4 reviews was a failed drive that needed to be RMA'd

it's got 5 fan slots! 2 in the front 2 on the side panel 1 on the back and a HDD fan slot.
