I think Sky3ds users are quite screwed to be blunt because it uses the actual systemnand to play roms, I just think some unfortunate Gateway users may of been caught up in this mix with using the same ID header rom as a Sky3ds user has used online at the same time. I don't think its GW related at all, in my opinion it is Sky3ds users that they are intending on banning and its quite a coincidence its happened since the release of the Sky3ds card, I mean GW cards have been using roms online for quite some time now and no bans have been reported but as of now of course.

Edit: My suggestion is from now on and I'm stressing this in every manner possible, don't buy a Sky3ds card or any card for that matter that users the systemnand to play roms online. if your using GW, downgrade to 4.5.0 and use emunand and unlink your systemnand and of course use a private header, just to be sure, I think its the only way forward now!.

lol or just buy offline only games like Zelda. Then the only danger is that someone else dumps it for its header (which is unlikely).

best chance of remaining unbanned is having a header that definitely relates to that specific game though....so smash header for smash, mario kart for mario kart etc

I feel like I have to agree with this..

The appearance of the sky3ds cart has made Rom playing on 3ds a reality for users who just don't want to mess about with their sysnand and emunand.

most of the reviews I have read on sky3ds is for parents buying it for their kids to use on their 3ds as its simple to use, "plug in and play".

Agreed but how can they ban your whole 3ds if your emunand is banned but not linked in anyway to your systemnand apart from an sd-card from getting in the way that can be formatted and started again, remember your only using your 3ds home screen of an sd-card, not internal, its all external way your using, nothing more to it. In reality all they are doing is banning an sd-card.

it's just that, from the info we have so far, they're banning the mac adresses, and not even gateway has a solution for that besides spoofing the MAC, which is unheard of on the 3DS
even if you unlinked, it would do nothing as every emuNAND you create will still carry the same data the 3DS holds

Look I'm not saying it would work 100% but its worth a try and it does make sense! I would be willing to try anything to stop others getting a ban, I was right before back in May 2014 about using public headers so I could be quite right with this! But please you do what you want with your 3ds, I'm not saying go ahead and do it, I'm not holding a gun to your head.
