Will these make me dump Wii U discs from the console and be able to run them from external like HDD HBL on wii?

Thanks!

Others have already explained what the common key does *sighs*. Let me spell it out one last time. Any further inquiries for what it does should be blatantly ignored from here on out. There is a search function for a reason.....

What the common key does:

The common key allows people to decrypt Wii U isos (game dumps) to access and modify the contents of said games. With this custom game mods should be possible (once a way to load backups is possible, or someone figures out a way to develop a Riivolution-like patcher for Wii U mode)

Allows people to decrypt NUS titles (official firmware updates from Nintendo) etc to view and potentially modify the contents within

What the common key don't (:P):

Magically enable homebrew or backup loading, exploits are needed for that

Butter your toast

Now this thread was intended for hackers and devs actually trying to make progress for the Wii U scene, can we please keep this thread organized and keep frivolous questions out of here?

Not trying to sound rude to anybody, I understand many have questions, but please use the search function up above, because most of these questions have already be answered previously....

in truth those infos if they are used together would lead to wii u hack but i see hackers trying to be on the light site of the force and not doing a thing, i am not a programmer but i happen to understand some basic things and i see lack of enthusiasm ,some even dare say that hacking the wii u is unethicall ,from my stand as i leave in europe just release the way and let us decide what to do ,in my country is legal to mod what you own...

Unfortunately for you, I am not the one in here demanding piracy hacks and then complaining and insulting those working on a kernel exploit. If you think you are so smart, do it yourself and stop insulting others such as mario and nwp.

Someone take this trash out for me, I'm busy working on real life.

True, the common key does allow you to access files. You can't really modify the files and expect them to work on actual hardware though.

That's why exploits are needed to actually "execute" the modified data *cough* kernel exploit *cough* :P.

An IOSU exploit would certainly give us a lot more freedom too :D

what makes you thing that i demanded something ? i just stated some facts ,before getting your personal crusade dude i am old enought to generate my own income but not stupid enough to never utilize something in its all possiblities , i am smart in my way 2 bsc and one master but not in programming that i said your problem is what? did you see my demading? i just stated the obvious facts ,i am not a kid but yet i want to have a shot in all capabilities of a console ,if you think that i am obliged to pay 50e for a game half baked you are wrong i do support devs but i do insist homebrew didnt kill the consoles.

So could we expect for a custom update wich prevent official update from nus servers ?
That would require the console specific NAND/eMMC keys. Im working on dumping the NAND and id like to be able to gets the keys as well (if i can) and release the method for doing so. But even with the keys, its possible that the starbuck will prevent any modified data from running from NAND. Only one way to find out...

Hes a known troll around here, just ignore him ;)

That's for NUS, DiscU is for decrypting Wii U ISOs/WUDs the scene released.

So people are talking shit about me so I may as well make myself clear. People seem to think I'm "socially engineering" the way to get warez. I'm the kind of person who is okay with piracy but is still willing to buy the game and support the developers, but that's never been the main reason I'm doing this. I started with game modding with Super Mario Galaxy 2.5 4+ years ago because I enjoyed it, and that still holds true today. I'm too curious for my own good, all I really want is to be able to mess around with files and make new content. I want to get into games like SM3DW to see how it differs from SMG1/2's filesystem/engine. I would want to mess around with a Reggie that works with NSMBU just to have some fun. I've never been able to fully appreciate CTGPR, but I still would want to help everyone make custom tracks. I try to be as open as possible, but if people are gonna talk behind my back, that I'm not okay with.

I know that AES in CBC mode is used, but is a specific IV other than 0 needed? It would be nice to have a detailed write-up on what requirements are needed in the decryption process before the actual decryption part of it. e.g. how to locate the partition keys, etc.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. It seems the same as Wii disc where it's the first 8 bytes of the decrypted title key and then the rest is 00. I haven't found any partition data though to read it properly.

I'm the troll? Lol. You have trolled everyone here for months with your nonsensical BS spewed in every other thread.

At least I am not a known liar who fabricates successes and ignores guidance from from folks like comex, marcan_troll, and crediar. I also do not duct tape hard drives to the side of my wii calling it a new hardware hack or roll around on youtube looking all disgusting with no shirt on claiming to be making huge breaktrhoughs in the "scene." How does it feel to have to retract practically every comment you have ever made? I wouldn't know, I don't suffer from those issues.

But it doesn't matter at this point. This stuff is happening and no thanks can be given to you at all; and really, that is what matters here.

Dude, calm your tits, who cares what happened in the past? Time to move on. Stop the ad hominem attacks when you have no substantiation or evidence to back his "being a troll", this is the Wii U hack thread, not the "so and so is a troll for doing X" tirade thread. There are better ways to dealing with it, you don't fight fire with fire lol

Dude, calm your tits and drop it, who the hell cares what happened in the past? Time to move on.

He attacked me first. I have every right to defend myself with facts. Maybe you should just mind your own business and take your own advice and ignore me like you have claimed so many times before?

And By the way, I care. What people do in the immediate past says everything about their current ability and character.

Course it is. Just because it doesn't help too much as a standalone doesn't mean it's not essential in providing homebrew.

Ah well, good to know, and hey, progress is progress, however little or big it might be, I just hope that we see more file extraction like soundtracks or models or what have ya from Wii U games. It's been done before, apparently Crediar somehow extracted data without the key, how he did that is anyone's guess. :P
