smealum is one smart guy......, he gave everyone a free public exploit for running homebrew, he owes nobody here anything, yet he has given so much to the community, he is a true asset to have around, and anyone bickering/whinging/moaning is not, if you don't contribute anything you are in no position to criticize others or slag them off for not giving you exactly what you want.....if you want it, make it, if you use it, appreciate those that made it so you didn't have to :)

We love you smealum. I never used your exploit because i own a dirty filthy DRM device.

I've been reaping the benefits of other skilled hackers exploits to unlock consumer gaming devices a long time before the average GBATemp member was even born.

Keep up the good work, dude!

Why are people so hellbent to be so opposing to an eventual softmod? Is it a crime for there to be free hacks on the 3DS? Ironic that smealum sold an exploit to a team that promotes piracy by manufacturing flashcards to run ROM dumps. Something doesn't add up here.

And for the record, people need to keep the butthurt out of these threads.

People are butthurt because they know that eventually some kind of mod will come out and they are opposing that because they would feel that their Gateway purchase was a complete waste of money. That's the only reason to oppose a softmod that I can think of. Not rational at all...

no, people are opposing little cry babies crying that people won't make them a free rom loader, and bashing dev's that actually contribute something because its not a rom loader.....i dont give a crap if a free rom loader comes out, gateway has well been worth its money, and even if a free rom loader was released it still has its place for additional storage, its funny how the cry babies always try turn their bashing into some sort of justified attack on devs by making stuff up that they have no proof of, and anyone that says "wait, what have you contributed before bashing dev's for not making free rom loaders" is suddenly a fanboy or scared that their purchase will of been pointless or some other crap

simple fact is, don't make stuff up, and don't cry that people won't do stuff for you.....come on this is primary school basic facts of life, that people here seem to of somehow never been taught

the_randomizer: I'm sorry but if you can't cough up any proof for your statements then they're nothing but slander.

The hell? I'm referring to people who bash Smea http://gbatemp.net/threads/ninjhax-source-code.378364/page-2#post-5274142 shows Huntereb bashing the Ninjax exploit because he deems it "useless" and another users http://gbatemp.net/threads/ninjhax-source-code.378364/page-3#post-5274387 has attested that Smealum sold his exploit to Gateway and yet he has no evidence. Don't call me out for using slander, there are plenty of people here on the Temp, that deem Smea's hack as useless. Also, see Gamequest1's statement on post 67. People want a ROM loader, but no one will do it for them as they feel entitled to a ROM loader, so what do they do? They bash Smea for not enabling piracy. If you can't cough up enough evidence to the contrary, then you're full of bullshit. Please, don't defend people like Huntereb and his anti-smea campaign. He only hates him and his exploit because it doesn't let him load his precious ROMs. Any more calling me out and you give me another person to add to my ignore list. People on here typically resort to worshiping and kissing Gateway's ass and treat them as hacking gods, anyone that bashes the Gateway gets verbally abused.

ByteBite don't call me out again, unless you have evidence that I was "slandering" cut the crap.

Yeah I remember now, the great smealum hack, took 24 years to release, took 24 hours to destroy it!

Edit: just a bit of fun by the way, before I get crucified by the smealum lovers :)

Neimod was also "against piracy", but also dumped 3ds game for a scene group.

Not saying smealum is involved with Gateway, but what is said publicly is not always the truth.

And yet he's "against piracy". Ironic.
secret is not to repeat any random posts from random people and treat them as fact, your posts seem to contradict each other......do we have proof smealum sold any exploit, or is part of any team?

if you think about it logically, why would smealum release a homebrew exploit that would obviously get blocked as soon as he did which is essential for gateway new exploit, if he had sold it to gateway, or was part of gateway......that would make no sense.....surely gateway wouldn't risk the EU and US launch consoles being upgraded before release and thus cut their potential sales in half

I never said that I believed that he sold it, only that people mentioned that thought he sold it, I don't have evidence, and I don't believe it for a second. Why would he sell it anyway?

@Xdqwerty, People who create revival services for the Wii end up in disaster, same goes for Pretendo lol.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
