For anyone having issues on second try, when you boot the internet browser disable your wireless, clear cache, open the url menu and enable it again. Should work just fine.

While the SPI Test fails on mine, the SPI read test is ok, and Card1 games still save and load properly. Could be they just forgot to update their diagnostics to check the new firmware's spi properly, as it did not fail before the update .

It's strange it works on 2DS because 2DS was launched with +4.5 firmware...

Did the 2DS have any added features over the other models or was it exactly the same?

so i take it the N3DS won't have emunand support because it's not possible to downgrade it's firmware to 4.x since the lowest stock fw is 8.1

That's what i want to know, because with the likes of certain Ps3s (3.60+) and pspgo on (6.20) stock for example, it is not possible to downgrade them, so i'm interested to see if this restriction applies to the N3DS on 8.1+?

Everything is working fine for me as a first time gateway user. Too bad update nag is going to be annoying until they release downgrading

Whenever I go to settings, its just its regular 9.2 stuff. On some videos I watched, I see GW 9.x (or whatever)
Whats all that about? What do you benefit from that? (Sorry for nooby questions)

So here's how it it:

When updating the gateway (you have to when entering gateway mode) the 3ds rebooted and got back to the 3ds menu
Now everytime i try the exploit it freezes with a black screen with 3ds gateway loading screen, only solution, turn it of, sometimes it reboots after more then a minute
When it does go thru, i get the new gateway logo on the top screen and white screen at bottom, then the 3DS reboots

I think it's this. They just forgot to update the routines for diagnostics, so after update the test shows failure.

To all those with SPI FAILS after the hardware upgrade: Do games still work and save? If so, then it could be a bug in the diagnostics. If it's a real SPI FAIL, games won't work.
