What would be the easiest way for me to try to find a webkit bug that causes a (unhandled) crash on version 536.28
I want to try to find an unhandled crash because I understand it is the first step in making an exploit.

If someday I do something useful in Wii U, I will show proof of it, and don't only say "I had done it", but well it's improbable to that happened (I refer to the part of me "doing something useful in the Wii U...")

But well, I will wait for the kernel exploit, I'm in exploitable firmware, with the Browser Exploit, I had to deprive of having some games in order to stay in the 5.0.0 firmware, so I will work hard to explore the Wii U system to make something useful there :) (If I can...), and yeah, I hope I don't brick the console .

I know. I have no coding experience so I can't find a kernel bug or anything, but something MN1 said in the trinux thread encouraged me a bit too much that I could do something with the browser... maybe if I was pushed where to start I might be able to try something, but it doesn't look like that's happening.

That's fine, I hope you can do something with that :) , It will took some time, I know I'm not very useful, but if you want, you can contact me by PM, I'm in holiday, so I'm don't do anything here :P, and I really want to do something useful, so we can work together, I will be very grateful if you agree to contact me :) .

So... Yet another potential exploit banned from the forums. Nice. Real nice. So how many potential exploits have been banned / called trolling or fake?

Incoming Wii U update! 5.4.0 will be released within the next 3-6 weeks and will feature more "behind the scenes" fixes. One wonders why Nintendo needs all of these "updates" when there is no homebrew.

One doesn't have to wonder. It's simple. At launch, they shipped hardware with incomplete and buggy software(that really required a huge system update to preform as promised) with a huge lack of features and have been trying to "catch up" ever since.
The Wii U's updates are unlike the wii's. Most of the wii's updates were for security and not to add features.

But if they were actually adding features you think they'd detail them.

the first step is to watch (and understand) fail0verflow's 30c3 talk, especially comex's part.

Oh if it comes from GovanifY there is ZERO chance he dumped it himself.
AND if he had it (from a stolen skype hack) he would have released it by now(So he's probably just trying to social engineer his way to the key).
So ZERO chance he has/had it. But since it isn't his own work, I ,also, have zero interest(perhaps negative interest,if possible).

If you know anything (and you would NOT be breaking your word/promise), I could use a good chuckle and love good fiction.

Well, I'm currently working on the NAND dumping project and WiiUOS (unofficial fork of Trinux), but if they don't deliver, I'm willing to give it a shot :P.

If you're handy with a soldering iron, keep an eye on this thread here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/wii-u-emmc-nand-read-write-read-before-flaming.355678/page-2#post-5234616

IF, I'm successful in dumping and reflashing the Wii U's NAND/eMMC, you will have a method for backing up and restoring your firmware in case of a brick :P. My goal with this, is to pull it off with a hardware mod in hopes that if I pull it off, somebody with more programming skills than myself will write a homebrew app (for the kernel exploit) for dumping and reflashing the NAND that doesn't require opening the Wii U's case at all. But hey, we gotta start somewhere..... :P

On topic, sweet, jimmy wasn't contributing anyway.
Anyways, since school is about to start up again things might be slower, but we finally made some more progress. Back to troubleshooting :P
So does this mean the exploit's done/almost done, and you're just working out the kinks?

It should work, but it doesn't. We're trying to fix it so it does work, by slowly narrowing down where the problems are coming from.

on the subject of the common key, i'd like to make two questions:

question number 1:

Code:
snip

what is the functionality of this?

question number 2:

Code:
snip

what is the functionality of this?

Don't bother going through sha1sum, i already went and neither matches.

These ARE keys, i just don't know what for.

If somebody could explain me what these bytes do i'd appreciate it.

Are those keys or just hashes? Because if theyre keys, you need to remove them from your post immediately!

Your quoted post shows his quoted numbers, just a heads up :P And besides, I doubt the keys will ever be leaked :creep:

i'm pretty sure those hex numbers decrypt titlekeys of something, just not the titlekey of what i was expecting :(
