I'm actually thinking of replacing my 3DSXL housing, but I'm not sure with what. I mean, can you even get things like the limited edition LoZ cases?

In the year 9999 we will experience a new time based computer bug much the Y2K bug. In that year a solution will be found and it will keep years in a 4 digit format. It will start using letters, but unlike hex it will allow the entire alphabet to be used. "S00N" (that's S, zero, zero, N) is the year GW will release the 9.x update.

I have my sources too... FROM THE FUTURE!! :-D

Cryogenics, here I come. At least then I'll be "asleep" for the wait.

The Sky3DS is a ticking time bomb. It will become useless the moment Nintendo releases an update that blocks it. Unlike Gateway, there is no way to update the cartridge once an update blocks it and it can't run homebrew (well it can via Cubic Ninja exploit, but not if your on firmware 9.3 or above!) or make use of Emunand or firmware spoofing. Hell it can't even undo region lock.

The moment it gets blocked (And I predict this will happen soon. Perhaps with the first major firmware update like v10.0) You're stuck with a $100 piece of plastic. You can just never update, but you lose out on a LOT of future games if you do this.

I feel sorry for all the poor sheep that will fall victim to Sky3DS. :(

My Gateway and my two 9.2 3ds have collected some serious dust after the past couple weeks. I haven't touched my 3ds because Gateway said the update is "just around the corner." Exactly how big is this damn corner. How long do I have to wait to use a product I paid $79 for? How soon is soon? Why do I still have all these unanswered questions? Gateway you are killing me with this delay man. You made a video of your flash card working on 9.2, so it me believe this is nearing completion. What's the hold up? Just release the 9.2 update and worry about all the other firm wares later.

I'm a 4.5 master race bastard, but that's on my original 3DS. I've got an XL here I'd like to use it on. I also gave a couple GW's away as gifts for Christmas and I feel like a dirt bag 'cause they still cant use them.

While I can assure you when (not if) the release is available pretty much everyone waiting will agree it was worth it, I still share your frustration...

And I thought my revelation was kind'a funny. :-)

Although you are probably right, that is not sure! People said that about gateway and they found their ways ( emunand and somehow the 7.x codes). Who knows which tricks sky3ds has ( i personally think nothing, but you never know)

Yeah, I'll be pretty pissed if it doesn't get released on the 2nd. I was hoping to play during my 14 days of vacation, but that number just keeps getting smaller every day :/

I review the video which GW posted on their website every day. They said it should be released before next week. "should be"!!!!! I don't think they would release it on this weekend, so tomorrow is the day. I'm in EST time zone.

Sky3DS's function has been pretty well documented at this point. All it does is emulate a real cartridge. It does not get around the security in place. The fact they released a new hardware revision to properly remove the 10 game limit proves, that the cartridge is not up-datable via software.

No custom code can be executed from a device that operates like this. I'm sure Sky3DS or some other clone team will make a new cart that gets around the block by emulating real carts in away that is undetectable by the new firmware release. Are you really ready to spend another hundred bucks every time Nintendo blocks it?

Perhaps a clone will come across that will make a proper cart that is actually worth something. One that is updatable to make it a bit more future proof then the current Sky3DS and whatever clones of it that are out right now.

As of right now, I wouldn't trust Sky3DS at all. If you haven't yet ***ked up and bought one, I highly recommend you stay the hell away from buying one.

Just wait for Gateway to release their new exploit. If you already have a 9.3/9.4 console, you can either just buy a new 3DS that has a compatible firmware, or wait till a better Sky3DS clone comes out that is future proof via software update. If you don't make rash decisions, you'll save yourself a LOT of trouble in the future. Trust me on this.

Meh. Just figured out how to convert my Sky3DS saves to GW saves so if the release doesn't happen soon I'm gonna start some games I've been neglecting for a while on my Sky :P.
