No, only 7.x to 9.2 have been confirmed. Anything else will require a cart update.
nope, stop spreading misinformation ;)

although they said they are working on 7.x to 9.2, they also said that they are adding lower firmware support every day. For now their is no way telling which fw's will be supported, but i think it is a bad idea to update your 3ds with a card already.

Thanks Bortz for keeping an eye on us :)

All we can do now is hope and wait for the release.
There are 2 possibilities:

1. It will be released, everyone will be hyped and gonna play Smash Bros online (or other games, whatever, all kinds of stuff)
2. It will not be released, everyone will be upset (well, probably most) and they're gonna have a good 2015 celebration with their family.

Piracy, aww ye.

I could bet everyone of these 610 pages did it at least once.
Was it a song, a video (yes, even streaming movies illegally) or a video game.

There are a lot of pages to get the 3DS backups / roms, but no one's gonna post any of them.
It's easy to find it on Google, you just need a bit of brain.

//EDIT: I don't want to encourage piracy, but it's just as it is.

And in some places, like here, in Brazil you really don't have a choice. The game costs always 1/7 of your payment, the local stores are always almost empty of 3DS games and they come to you and say "This kind of game is too expensive to us to import"... In the eshop, even with the game being digital, the price is the same and hardly we get discount on one game or another, but games like Pokémon Alpha Sapphire arrived here costing 60 dollars at the same time Pokémon Y and X were costing the same, even with a year after their realese... Sony and Microsoft here are making their way out of piracy here, making big sales, games for fair prices and with stores full of their games. But Nintendon't understands this... So sad that a country depends of piracy to play all that a company has to offer...

Does anyone know if there's going to be any benefits with the newer gw release? I'm currently on 4.5 and wondering if any of this new gateway supports will warrant been on a newer firmware.

Perhaps better performance or more compatibility, but that's just a thought on my end...

Nothing new announced yet, I think it's not likely, we're not even sure that emunand will be supported for 9.2.

Pages fly by today, hope you are all enjoying the parties for new year and not pressing F5 all the time :)

No. EmuNAND solves all problems with that, and they said themselves not to update if you are on 4.1-4.5.

.cia question... so with a .cia game, it does not require a header to play online, but a .3dz rom does... how come (just curious)?

+5 Bonus Points - Since you can extract a header from any 3DS physical game, if I currently use Cubic Ninja for Ninjhax, can I extract the header from that as well (or does the Ninjhax somehow uses it)?

:yaysp:

The game doesn't lose the header permanently, so as long as you aren't using more than one cubic ninja header at the same time, you can give any rom cubic ninja's headers.
Can't answer the first one, I don't know.

I believe that when using a .CIA to go online, it does not require a header because it uses the console's header.

Gotcha. I think a lot of people (from what I've read) use .cia for online games only to avoid needing a header, which makes sense. I'll extract mine from Cubic Ninja just in case I need it one day but I think I'll use .cia for online games.

Are you able to "obtain..." .cia files or do they have to be converted from .3ds first?

Both are possible. You can also convert ur .3ds into cia's :)
