Hardware Tempted to buy a 3DS XL for $100...

I currently have my mind set on waiting for the New 3DS XL and I think I'll be worth the wait but I'm so tempted right now to buy brand new 3DS XL for $100.

I expect the New 3DS XL to sell for $200 in Canada when it comes out which makes it $100 more expensive and double the price of the current sale for the 3DS XL in Canada.

I've never owned a 3DS before thus why I'm so tempted to buy one right now but at the same time my mind is telling me to wait and spend the extra money on the New 3DS XL because it'll be worth it for the better hardware, performance and enhanced/exclusive New 3DS games.

if it's really only $100 get a 3ds now, that is $50 cheaper than i have ever seen one.
i guess we wont really know the new 3ds xl price in the americas until the time comes since the price discrepancy between japan and australia right now is fairly large, japan under $170 and australia over $200
america does usually get things on the cheaper side though so it's possible the new version also comes with a price drop.

I'm almost certain the New 3DS XL will be $200 in Canada when it comes out and likely $180 in the US.

Current old 3DS XL sales from EB Games in Australia has the old 3DS XL with 2 free games for the same price as the New 3DS XL which should make the New 3DS XL the same price as the old 3DS XL at regular price.

I'm thinking the old 3DS XL is going to drop in price to by $50 in Canada when the New 3DS XL becomes available.

Edit:

I've decided to stick with my initial plans to wait for the New 3DS XL and spend the extra money for the upgraded hardware and new features, I think it will be worth the wait and money.

3DS XL's price dropped to $140 in Canada pretty much permanently, guess I made a good decision passing up on the the sale for the 3DS XL for $100 which really only would have saved $50 over the price drop and pretty much indicates the New 3DS is coming very soon and going to sell for the old 3DS XL's regular (old price) $200.

No R** members are saying it's a permanent price drop in the near future ala in preparation for the New 3DS to get rid of old stock.

R** is usually is always right, that's where I found the $90 plus tax and free shipping deal to start off with (which is just about $100 tax in) on December 23, 2014 and I had the deal in my cart ready to ship too but held off because I know as I fact I would still want a New 3DS XL when it comes out.

where r u seeing it for $100? ebgames is selling it for $179, while walmart and target are selling it for $139.99

It was $90 free shipping nation wide about 5 days ago and they had stock at that price till the very end of sale.

The sale was from December 20 - 24, 2014 only and deal is gone, almost everywhere has it for $140 now most likely to get rid of stock and prepare for the New 3DS stock.

Sorry it was Walmart.ca and Amazon.ca with special deal links. If you just went to the website during the sale the 3DS XL's were $140 however if you had the deal link and added the promotion to your cart it was $140 - $50 Free Gift Card with the $50 Gift Card being applied to the $140 meaning $90 at both stores online only.
