Hacking Realhotstuff R4i Gold 3DS (RTS) GREEN? HELP!!

I ordered that card from them and got it in 3 days I was happy.
then I tried the flashcard in 2 dsi and 2 3ds and it doesn't work at all


The card says : THERE IS NOTHING INSERTED IN THE GAME CARD SLOT.

I tried it all , new wood, format microsdcards, different microsdcards
all those microsdcards works fine with my older r4i gold rts.

The only different I see if the one i just got has a green board while my older
ones that works is red. Does anyone know is green boards are older or newer?

I just put the wood kernel in and nothing!! I am missing something?

older ones shows up fine in the dsi and 3ds even without microsdcards inserted. this one doesnt.

Sounds dead, or could be a clone. The PCB should DEFINITELY be red. Both of mine are.

Does the PCB of your supposed R4I look like this?:

These are photos of the R4 I currently own.


Check the numbers on the chip and PCB. If they match, you got a R4. If that's the case that's not even a R4i. Hell, you can't even put MicroSD cards larger then 2GB in it. The only consoles the original R4s worked on was the DS and DS Lite.

If that's the case, I'd say send that f**ker back and ask for a refund.

Sounds like you got a defective product which happens no matter where you ordered from. XD

Well, following "Apache Thunder" post, is not about a defective product at all.

But a super old R4 card, that is not even R4i, why will they do that.
The package and sticker are correct, but the card itself is not.

To me, this seems like it could be a case of employee theft.

Considering that DS/3DS carts haven't changed a whole lot over the years, and the fact that they are fairly interchangable, it seems plausable that an employee could have popped open two carts, and swapped the insides out with one another. It would take a while for the company to go through the stock of bulk ordered carts, and by the time anyone realized that someone would do something like this, they could be long gone with a variety of brand new toys to play with.

It's just a theory, but it could explain it.

Perhaps, I just ordered from them to have it deliver fast.
I have order from other places before, and all worked though.

Anyways my plan was to have it for tomorrow for the kiddo
to see. I guess will be a sad xmas thanks to realhotstuff or the mistake..

Curiously, I also bought mine from Real Hot Stuff. I bought my gateway there too, though I haven't tested it yet, 9.2.0 and all.

If it makes you feel better I test my GW from real hot stuff on my friends 4.5 3ds and it worked like it should. Like I said before you just got a bum card which happens when you deal with illegal pirating devices from a chiniese "company"

I got a reply today after I explained the situation
letting them know they have cards with right r4i sticker but that they are old r4 cards
here is their reply:

"We again apologize for the mix-up. We believe one R4DS cartridge was mixed into our R4i Gold 3DS batch, labeled (sticker was put on) and sent out. You will receive the correct item"

Just in case anyone have similar situation. Hopefully I will get the correct one soon.

Update: 12/29/2014

I received the flashcard today and this time it's the correct one (red board) revision D.
now it works fine.

"We have included a 3DS screen protector for the inconvenience caused." = received few days later
