yeah, you can open it up and see if you have any loose wires, but its better not to risk it if your just gonna replace it

digitziers are usually just a little flex cable no soldering needed
anyone want to help give me a step by step in this endeavor?

ehhh.... no videos are on the new 3ds being opened, so not much we can say but to look at a video of a regular 3ds xl being opened and be careful when doing it, but youll need a good screw driver with a small philips tip

What the other guy said.

If it's ANYTHING like a laptop, it's just like he says. It isn't much work either, just slotting it back in.

Make a thread on.. Well.. Somewhere on the 3DS forum. There'll be SOMEONE bound to help you out.

im looking for any pictures....its should be fairly simple, its just a small ribbon cable, it was most likely just not slotted in enough or something.......if you dont have the required experience i would recommend just getting it replaced, but if you have ever done anything like replacing a screen on a mobile phone or anything like that it should be pretty simple

Hey, if I streamed it could you walk me through it step by step?

If anyone is wondering which firmware is installed on Play Asia's most recent stock of metallic black AUS N3DS XLs, I received mine today and it indeed has 9.0.0-20E. I placed my order the first of last week when their website said "expected stock arrival on 12/12/2014". The shipping label was printed Thursday, it was picked up Friday, and delivered today. I don't know about the standard or metallic blue XL models, but the metallic black should still be safe.

Sorry but this won't help, all his touchscreen was it needed to be calibrated, while the issue for mine is that the touchscreen does not respond at all.

his didn't need calibrating it had dust stuck between the screen & the plastic bezel around it it. try it you are not losing anything !!!
