May I kindly ask why you insult the Sky team? I'm quite new to the scene, and on top of that I seem to have arrived at the worst time possible, but for me as a newbie I cannot say why sky should be shitty and GW not. As I learned about the two, I simply went for the one that guaranteed more benefits for my side, so I went with sky as they clearly have the bigger advantage right now.
If you try to see the whole situation through someone's eyes that is completely new, it is impossible to convince someone like me to wait for the promised update. And I don't think this is an opinion, I rather think that is how the average person is sold basically. And with lots of people buying New 3DS, they are most likely drawn to Sky rather than GW.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, like I said, I have dealt with that matter no longer than a week.
People have issues due to
mostly speculated reasons on why, on their first flashcards, Sky3DS imposed a ten game limit. Some call them greedy, others call them downright dumb as it was the work of one user (not from around here) that figured out how to break said limit.
Adding insult to injury (in many POV's), Sky3DS now releases another cart with a blue button (the former was red) that comes right out of the box without that limitation. Users who are stuck with the Red-Button version have to use a program (by said person I mentioned before) to patch their ROMs before loading them up.
It's an all out war between those who defend Gateway and those who defend Sky3DS. Some of us are neutral though.
Realistically, to the end user that really doesn't care at all about eShop dumps, region-free gaming or .CIA installations, Sky3DS works like a charm (seems to be having issues with some MicroSD's though, but that's another thing).
On the other hand, Gateway has been promising since November 14th to
nearly everyone out there. They haven't delivered, instead relying on
soon.
I myself support Gateway (as I already bought a cart from them) and I don't agree with the price imposed by Sky3DS's cart. I also value region-free and eShop dumps.
It will all boil down to your priorities. In your case, since you're german*, if you want to play Shin Megami Tensei IV, you can't. That's because in Europe it was only launched in eShop. If you want to play Conception II, you can't either - eShop only release.
That's why I'm holding out for Gateway and consider it the superior product despite no release out at the moment. Their promises are bold and their track record is
slightly-dirty.
Edit: *if you have an USA 3DS, that changes things though. Sky3DS is limited to the console's region.
