Maybe it's just because it's that time of the year again but out of nowhere Pikmin 3 has became quite expensive (at least the European copies) which went from £20 to £60 without much of a reason, other than that it could've had a low print but I find it hard to believe since it was available for so long.

I do own a copy of Pikmin 3 so I'm good and if I didn't it'd be fine too since I wouldn't spend so much on it as I'm not a fan of the series or have much interest.

It's very hard to believe Pikmin 3 is out of print now. Miyamoto only recently released his Pikmin Short Movies on eShop and encouraged people to look at Pikmin and there's the Pikmin 3 demo on eShop now as well. Just makes zero sense for them to discontinue the game. Stores probably have depleted stock and need to reorder... Unless...

...PIKMIN 4 CONFIRMED.

Talk about sense.. this is the same company who already confirmed some of their Skylan-- Amiibos won't be having another reprint. I just don't know, from what I see Nintendo's being fucking stupid with these illogical decisions, much like Capcom making SFV a console exclusive for PS4 only.

I still love Nintendo products but their behaviour is beyond dreadful they're the ones who're making it hard for fans to get the items when they're out of print and scalpers have 50+ copies for unreasonable prices.

That's weird. I was in the US for the entire November. Everywhere I saw it was for the usual $60. Some places had offers though like Target where you buy 2 games and you get one free

This... You really hit the nail. Do you know how hard it is to find some of the launch games in Finland? I haven't seen Warriors Orochi 3: Hyper, Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition, or even Wonderful 101 on store shelves in a long time. It's just as hard to get them online. eBay is pretty much the only option and you have to pray the games aren't being sold at 300% markup.

(And to your comment on Capcom... Just wait until SFV CE comes out multiplatform + arcade, it's only a matter of time...)

Not sure what to think of it. I still see it as 45€ new and 35€ used in my local game store catalog. Normal price, I think. Perhaps it's just a UK shortage?

EDIT: forgot the most obvious question: is it still available on the eshop nowadays?

Nitendo's strategy: "We wont make more copies of certain amiibos"

General public: "Let hurry, we gotta buy 'em all, before they gone"

Result: Nintendo sell all its stocks, earns a lot of profit, makes money pretty fast and suddenly decides
to revert back their decision, reprinting those "one print" only amiibos.

Who knows, maybe it is just an strategy....

It is available new in the US but not all stores have it. Last week it was $79 on Amazon and just checked it is now $89 new and $70 used. A $30 premium for physical copy, that's just nuts.

I found a used copy for $37 online on Thanksgiving after searching everywhere. Of course the seller has not shipped it yet, must be having second thoughts.

Wii U games in general from a first party perspective are all expensive in the UK though.

I'm trying to get SM3D world, Pikmin 3, MH3 Ultimate, WWHD and Wonderful 101. They're all around 30-35 secondhand or 40-55 new.

It's still available for the standard price of £32 from Amazon Germany and ShopTo (via eBay) but elsewhere it costs £60+.

There's also been a lot more shortages of other Wii U games and I suspect this will cause scalpers to love this. :-/

Amazon had it on backorder for £25 and because I forgot to cancel it they sent me even though I already had an order from Flubit from £22, but eh, no biggie I can sell it for £35+.

Or you can sell it to me for £25 please as I'm struggling to get my copy out of tescos and really wanted to play it for christmas. . :(

Is pikmin 3 worth it? I've seen it on sale on hotukdeals for around 20 in the past 12 months? I'm tempted to snap on the shopto offer.

I'd never buy from Germany, though. No offence to the guys over there (Bimmel?) as I speak the language, but games localized für Germany may not even come with English manuals, not to mention they often have different covers (in German) and they have that huge, distracting USK logo on the front.

It's a very unique experience. It was my first Pikmin 3 game and I loved it. The DLC packs are great too.

Are those even Nintendo's fault? Ninty might have published W101, I forgot, but pretty sure they had nothing to do with the others.
