Hacking 9.3.0-21 Nintendo 3DS Update Released

People sure like to ask a lot of questions that we have no way of knowing the answer to. We don't know. Chances are it'll be less than 9.3, if that's what you're worried about.

Considering it's already out in Japan (it's Gyakuten Saiban 123, right?), it'll likely be quite low.

I'm sorry. I just wanted to hear your thoughts about it.

The japanese version has a lower firmware, so it would be likely not a newer firmware for us. At least that was my suggestion.

People on 4.5 shouldn't update even after Gateway release their 9.2 support. What's the point? You only risk losing support for certain features.

People on 4.5 shouldn't update even after Gateway release their 9.2 support. What's the point? You only risk losing support for certain features.

Maybe the 9.x version will have features they haven't shown yet? Hard to say really, I have a GW and 4.5, and I'm still excited about it. GW "improved system stability" are always more welcome than Nintendo



Anyway, I haven't been around a computer all day, any word of 9.3 emunand issues?

Was this update released last night?
Was hoping to get my emunand updated.
Got emunand setup last night but after i updated it booting gateway mode just gives 2 black screens
Was going to have another stab at it tonight with a fresh emunand but its starting to look like i'm going to be stuck on 4.5 :'(

You meen games updates are dumped? Smash bros 1.04 update and ORAS 1.2 ? Can't see them on 3ds.essh.co

They are not noted in that list , I guess because it's people dumping them not release groups . Anyways another forum has loooooots of dumped dlcs , 3ds converted to cia , patches and etc. you will need to look for it tho

There are already people in this thread that have said it doesn't work. Lots of firmware updates break flashcarts, most of the time just temporarily. Gateway confirming something works is more important than Gateway confirming something doesn't work.

There hasn't been any solid confirmation that it doesn't work, the source that someone gave in this thread wasn't substantial enough. Seeing as Gateway hasn't even released their update yet it could still be working, Nintendo can't very well know every exploit that is out there before it is even out. The only thing we do know is that Gateway warned users not to update past 9.2 at all costs. Seeing as SKY3DS still works, there might be some hope yet. But I agree with you, it is better for Gateway to confirm that something works, and right now 9.0-9.2 is confirmed to work.

I mean yeah, Gateway doesn't work on 9.3 but it also doesn't work on any FW above 4.5

9.2 patch is unreleased therefore the only people who'd know if the patch will support 9.3 are GW themselves

Anyway I'm a bit bummed out because this means US N3DS units whenever they're released are gonna come with 9.3... so in the case that GW *IS* blocked, I can't run it on an N3DS

Dammit! My N3DS LL just arrived a couple of minutes ago and it's on 8.1! If Nintendo released that update a couple hours later I'd be fine. Hopefully Gateways exploit is still in 9.3.

All evidence has pointed to Nintendo not caring about DS flashcards anymore. I don't think they would suddenly just block some unless someone found a new DS mode exploit on a higher firmware. Wasn't the last firmware to block a ds cart 6.x?
