Hardware Imminent system update?

Turned on my Wii U to play Bayonetta 2 to find that the system failed to download a system update due to supposed server congestion. Failed when I tried to update through System Settings as well. I'm running the latest 5.3.0 update, by the way. eShop has also been down for most of today.

So I guess a update is happening pretty soon?

5.3.0 E/U/J is indeed the most recent though I don't see why they'd need to make another update unless they're going to add a new feature to it.

It says that error comes up if you attempt to play for glory mode. People who updated via disc are probably offline so they can do a kernel exploit later

Why would you want to be on 5.3.0? The kernel exploit is only available on 5.2.0 and under

Is there an update for 3ds too? I don't want to enable wifi to check and it start nagging me to update every time I power it on. Already get this enough on my Wii U cuz of my vWii harddrive
