It worked for me, and I'm in The Netherlands.
Not sure how this holds up in other countries, but I've done my fair share of research before ordering and I've seen a lot of positive feedback regarding this topic.
I take no responsibility should you have to pay tax tho :P But even if you had to, it would probably still be cheaper than buying one when it comes out in your country.

If I were to buy one, I'd get the Australian version anyway.
I don't give a shit about GW, I just want muh homebrewz and the few games I bought/will buy.

I live in the US and as far as i'm concerned there shouldn't be any import taxes for anything < 200$. I ordered it from nippon yasan too and I'm really hoping it gets here quickly! Do you happen to know how long it took for them to process your order and ship it out?

EDIT: I need to read before posting... Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye on when mine will ship out.

Here's the order history :)

Will that really work with a 3DS?
The customs here run international mail through X-ray, I'm pretty sure they'd notice something is suspicious.

How suspicous will electronics for €10 be in the X-ray machine? You think they'll recognize it as a new 3DS?

I got the JAP Smash Bros New 3DS LL and it came with system menu 8.1.
I updated it to 9.2 and I removed my wifi connection as I wait for this update to release (my idiotic friend updated my old 3DS which was on 4.5)

Thanks a bunch! exactly the info that I need. Hopefully I can get my hands on the unit asap.

Surprisingly, the JAP SMB New 3DS LL is going for cheap in HK and China, I'm getting mine for about $1300HKD ~ $200CAD/$180USD

I assume no english menu on the new 3DS LL? and can anyone answer this, if there's emunand with the new GW, could I load an english menu in it?

Unlike the DS, you can't change the language on a Japanese 3DS.
If emunand is possible (probably) you could load up a system menu of any region.

I can probably make due with the Japanese menu.

Now just to decide whether to sell my NES edition 3DS XL

nice I just had to order one of those after seeing the video :) hopefully there is no new update before I get mine.

edit: any chance of posting some pictures of the console I couldn't find any of the back or inside?

I assume you don't know any japanese, have you had any difficulty navigating the system (you obviously created and deleted a wifi-connection). Any drawbacks to consider for someone like me that is planning on getting a Jap N3DS?

shouldn't be much of an issue, the menu structure is very similar, there'll probably be someone on the forums willing to help

possibly, it's still sitting in the box, all I did was update it to 9.2 FW

If you're interested, I can PM you when I get my new 3DS LL in a few days

Hmm, yeah, I'm looking around, mostly, as I do eventually plan on getting one. Earning money at work and donating plasma will help ;) That'd be awesome, sweet.

I studied Japanese in high school as well as living in Japan for a while, and can help ya :P

The NES edition is my favourite special editions out of all, even the box is nicely designed. The red buttons and stylus is a nice touch as well.
