Due to Nintendo's partial fail with the official GameCube Adapter (the fact that you need Smash to use it) I sent a email a few days ago to see if Mayflash would make an updated product (they have a GameCube to USB adapter) with HID support. Here's what I received

Hi LightyKD

Thanks for your kind message. We have been watchting at NINTENDONT recently. It is very amazing! And we will release new item which is compatible with HID standard.
Please wait in patience and keep attention to Mayflash website for updates.

Best regards,
Lemon
Mayflash Limited

I figure that this would probably be the best place to talk about this new adapter. Also We should probably make any Nintendont related notes and send them off to Mayflash.

I wouldn't call it a partial failure just because you need smash to initialise the adapter.

I'd say it's very good work by devs to get support out on day 1 of release with just a workaround.

How is it Nintendo's fault that you need Smash to get the NGC Adapter to work for something that they didn't intended to? That's what the homebrew devs are for.

Still, shame on Nintendo for making it only work with one game but apparently the box says it works with others, I dunno.. I'll be trying it out when I receive my NGC Bundle Edition.

I'd be interested in this new Mayflash adapter, though. Could it support DDR dance pads on Wii U? The struggle for us DDR fans is real... And unfortunately the Wii received some of the best songs in the entire series despite otherwise having mediocre releases. I just wish Nintendo made good on its promise (or whatever some rep said) that the GC adapter would work with Wii games... Nintendo, listen up! It's already crappy that backwards compatibility is implemented using a virtualized version of the Wii software (vWii). Fix that crap! Playing old DS games on my 3DS is so convenient because the system doesn't restart into a makeshift "DS mode", it just takes me straight to my game right from the 3DS menu. How hard can it be to make the Wii U behave that way? (/ end rant )

I feel your pain bro. I can't wait to play DDR again.

It's their damn fault for not putting out enough adapters on launch day. Stingy bastards.

Good news. We need more of these kinds of news. I'm happy with the Pro Controller. Maybe Mayflash can make something like the GameCube controller that works in Bluetooth standard? Still happy with the Pro Controller.

WOW! This looks almost like the original and looking at it, it'll act like Nintendo's official GameCube adapter but how will it work for Nintendont and Wii Mode?

If it works out of the box for the Wii Mode then I'm getting one!
