That's not logic, that's speculation.

You can't build a logical chain, based on assumptions, as I pointed out in your quote, your "logic" is ONLY assumptions and no valid facts.

The facts are :

1)Smealum's exploit has been know for a long while.

2)Gateway has announced the support for 9.x, before Smealum released his exploit, heck before he even announced Cubic Ninja.

3)Smealum has already released the exploit, but nothing from Gateway yet.
I remember way way waaay back when people already said it was Cubic Ninja from the hints Smealum had given back then. I really wish I had picked up a copy then when they were dirt cheap.

My guess is that Gateway have a exploit for a moment when it was threatened, and that moment is now

I remember way way waaay back, when people guessed many more other potential games that could be exploitable, should have probably grabbed them too on the way =)

You couldn't have possibly known that Cubic Ninja was the game, because many people assumed many different games.
Except, no. Some people may have assumed other games, but the ones who followed the hints that were dropped back then came to the conclusion it was Cubic Ninja. It was the only title that stood out and was mentioned the most.

the timing has more to do with the release of sky3ds....
Even more so, the timing (for both cards) have to do with the New 3DS release.

Blow open a new platform, result in a fresh batch of sales and customers.
They already had the regular 3DS on v4.x - anyone that wanted in could get one of those and did.
This new piece of hardware though, its going to have exclusive titles and functionality.
They'll want in on that. So thats the most obvious reason to hold back a trump card.

The timing of Gateway's announcement suggests they are trying to compete with Sky3DS. Nothing more.
Sky3DS doesn't use the same exploit as NINJHAX, so why do you assume Gateway will?

Well we could surely use cubic ninja as an entry point in case we find out the exploit gateway uses now. If they one that is. There is still a chance that it's just emulating a legit card like sky 3ds

Since the fpga is upgradable, there is a chance that the gw does use a game, sky3ds method to launch, then normal gateway cfw stuff.

Now that you mention it, perhaps it does need Cubic Ninja, except it will use a .3ds file instead of an actual cart. It will get written "old style" to the first partition on the MicroSD, start the exploit like Ninjhaxx (QR code->Save file), then it will start the GW v3.0 exploit that uses the games stored on the second partition of the MicroSD.

People are sort of misunderstanding my post, I think... The second part of my post wasn't that important. I'm not so much looking back in hindsight and really wishing I had bought Cubic Ninja, because at the end of the day, I have a Gateway and I am perfectly happy with that.
The important part of my post was the first part, which was in reply to the quote. Smealum dropped strong hints that the game was Cubic Ninja. While he didn't do it explicitly, he did announce Cubic Ninja long before. I was arguing that in a sense, Gateway did not announce 9.2 support before Smealum announced Cubic Ninja.

Strong hints, like what ?

I don't remember exactly, since I wasn't too involved. But it was things like the price of the game (that it's a budget game) and I also believe he did mention the game had QR functionality.

Like hundreds of other games ?=)

I honestly don't know exactly what you're arguing about yet again. You seem to purposely look for faults that aren't there for whatever reason you may have.
There are not even close to 'hundreds' of games like this. The list is not as big as you think. On top of that, I said there were more hints than just these two, narrowing the list even further.

But frankly, I am done arguing this, since you seem to argue only in spite or something.
And I don't say this often, because normally I love to have discussions with people about anything.

I wasn't really arguing, you created a pointless discussion, so I "discussed" with you.

Our whole discussion was :

Me : "One could only guess what game that was, before Cubic Ninja was revealed"
You : "Nope, there were hints, and some people knew it was Cubic Ninja"

The hints did not narrow down the list to 5-10 games, they narrowed it down dozens of games (if not hudnreds), so the guessing game was still there was my whole point.

Please read this post and your other posts and see how different your presentation of your argument. This quoted argument is much more respectful and doesn't have a mocking undertone (whether this tone is intentional or not, I don't know.)
If you claim that the list was narrowed down to dozen of games (instead of just a few), the burden of proof lies on your lap. Otherwise it's your word against mine and then there isn't much discussion left.

dozen of games
