Modchipsdirect. Ordered last Friday and it arrived on Tuesday in MIssouri. Uneventful online transaction. I am a happy camper.

I just saw a thread were a member was upset because they did not notify him of a delay because of the snow storm in Buffalo. Not sure what the situation is like up there right now but I suppose if you are looking to have it really fast right now might not be the best time to order from them. You could contact them to see if they are dug out yet.

Since i am on 9.2 not sure what I can do to make sure it works.

Nah im fine, ordered a bunch of things before from China and didnt mind the waiting. Yeah I know what you mean, well I guess they will release the update before 2015 anyways. Im not in a hurry

because i want to buy a gateway 3ds card for preparation for the update.

Its highly probable that resellers will attempt to crank up the price. Afterall, if Gateway suddenly works on 9.x then the demand for the cards rises making it a more valuable commodity.

The only reason why SKY3DS was even sold for $80~100 in the first place was because it worked on the latest firmware. And that was with a MASSIVE handicap of 10 game limit.
Without the game limit it probably would've sold for $150~200 (people would complain, but they'd still buy it...)


In other words, while there is no 100% certainty that the price will rise, there also is no 100% certainty that Gateway will have its update ready before the year is out.
But if supply and demand are to be trusted, its a high probability that once Gateway does update. Stores will likely crank up the price. Atleast for a while.

Btw, not related to GW but related to the 3DS Scene in general. Just saw a Cubic Ninja on a Portuguese ebay'ish site selling a copy for 70€ !! 86 bucks!

Debating about this as well, I have a feeling it's better to just wait and let the resellers patch the card to guarantee it works then have to look for someone on classifieds with a 4.5 system.

Now. Which micro SD do some of you guys prefer for the Gateway cartridge?

I'm going to probably use my SanDisk Ultra 8GB [1] MicroSD HC I (or whatever this is, seriously, why do they all have to be so complicated?) and I'll buy a Kingston MicroSD HC 10 or something.

I'll hafta' buy an SD one probably in the future too .. *sigh* .. For .cia files and what have you.

I'm biggining to think that maybe gatewaway doesn't even have anything up their sleeves and they only said that to stop people from buying the sky 3ds and they probably just starting work on 9.2. It could be months before they release Anything. Of course this is all speculation I could be Wrong but I myself will hold off on buying a gateway untill i see actual footage of some real progress being made

Unlikely. You can't just blurt that out without having something up your sleeves first. Let's wait a while longer and see if there's any video soon.

This can be 1 of the hundred reasons that can be true plus I cant wait so I ordered a 4.5 3ds too!

Picked up a Japanese New 3DS today and updated it from 8.1J to 9.2J, so I should be good for that Gateway update. Can't wait.
