I literally just did this. Once you get the devmenu and savedatafiler.csu, rename the .csu part to .3ds and put it in this folder. you get a savedatafiler.cia. put that in your big SD card. open devmenu and install

Select the Pokemon ROM on Gateway but don't open the game, open savedatafiler, choose CTR and extract it. The save game will be in your 3ds SD card with the name main.
Drag and drop this main file into PKHex.

Can't you simply start both games, one in english and another one in Japanese with your weird name and then extract the saves, open them in PKHeX and copy the name from one to the other?.

I get a "corrupted save" message when I tried to change the value from "3" to "1" or "8".

I will try again from a fresh save, and if it fails again I could wait a bit.

If you are using a direct link to the file, you can upload the link to burnbit.com, and then torrent it. Torrents are always resumable, and fast as hell.

You can do that?!?! Wow I'm really out of touch with computers these days! Thanks for the tip, since until my DOCSIS 30mbps internet gets connected in my apartment in Thailand, i use internet tethering on my phone, direct link downloads always time out!!!

You have to fix the checksums afterwards

Can always wait until the next version of PKHeX is out, which has more editing (including Game Language).

Could someone tell me what I should put in Cart. ID to allow me to play online? Also, can I keep my save? I already got a couple towns in.

If you use Gateway Rom Patcher, it will auto adjust the settings for you when you try to insert the header. I have used the same header for multiple games using that tool and they work every time.

I bet Nintendo will start doing extensive header-to-hardware checks within a few updates from now... To make sure pirated carts/roms of any kind won't boot.

If there's one thing I can recommend to anyone who hasn't played this game yet, if you're using traded pokemon there is no need for grinding. I did a little bit of grinding and all 4 of my pokes were level 11-12 before i even stepped inside the first gym.

This made for a very long and frustrating gym battle...............
