I bought a 64gb micro sdxc and tested it in other devices before my 3ds
What I want to say is Im 100% sure the micro sdxc is working probably
I know It has to be formated to Fat32 and I did, but still when I run any game or application
the 3ds give an error say the card has been removed. It happens in the beginning or sometime after 5 or 10 second
I tried different cluster size like 4K 8K 16K and 32K
all of them give the same result in both Xl 3ds and the normal one

does anyone have an advice to make the card speed match the 3ds?

Try to format it one more time, with "SD Formatter v4.0" ... and do a Full Erase (Overwrite).
It will also format the card to exFAT afterwards.

If that doesn't help, use "h2testw 1.4" to run a benchmark on the card, if it spits out any error, the card is most likely broken.

Thanks for the quick reply and I have done both of what you suggest and the card 100% working there is no problem
so can I say the 3DS cant support all 64 GB card? I dont want to give up and buy a 32 GB SDHC yet

We are talking about compatability to the Gateway 3DS here right?
It can be picky when it comes to mSD cards ... seeing that some are sporting 128GB cards in that thing w/o a problem, makes your card look more like an incompatible one :/

You can basically use ANY partitioning tool for this, minus the built-in shit Windows has. The SDXC cards are typically exFAT pre-formatted, thus "don't work" in SDHC devices, unless you repartition them to use FAT32 with a utility. I personally use AOMEI's Partition Assistant 5.5.8 for my needs, but even Gparted or the SD Formatter 4.0 work well.

I use the same card with my GW. It has worked perfectly. FAT32 formatted, with cluster size "Default". I used the SD Formatter.

ok this sealed the deal. I don't think I need to try anything else. The 3ds cant use sandisk 64gb micro sdxc, maybe other micro 64GB but not sandisk

I stated in the first post that i formated the card to fat32. The problem is that the 3ds cant run any game or app correctly it give an error. Thanks for your input

Strange... Could it just be a faulty card? Have you tried other brands of the same size? I ask because SDXC cards formatted as FAT32 work fine in the 3DS for other people.

Ah, you're right. Actually I formatted it once with Windows' format tool with those settings, then I formatted it again with SDFormatter for good measure.
Maybe the 3DS SD slot doesn't work very well with that card. I have only used it with my GW, a couple of times I have used it in the 3DS SD slot in order to dump games directly to it though and that has worked fine.
I suppose I could try that later.

One other thing you could try, is using a software tool like ImageUSB to copy the partition from the old cart to the new SDXC card, and then extending the partition to fill the rest of the card. That might work. :D

Okay, well I'm just trying to think of every possible angle here, I juggle partitions around all the time from various harddrives and USBs I have, mostly for testing purposes.

I just upgraded my 4GB Class 4 card in my 3DS to a 16GB Class 6, and I used ImageUSB to do it, and everything transferred over flawlessly. Then I fixed the partition to full 14.7GB using AOMEI Partition Assistant v5.5.8 (They make great software).

hi.. been searching the net for a while and came to this thread. Is your card a SanDisk Ultra 64gb SDXC UHS-1? may i know if you got it to work?
